Good day all,

I guess I am new to the whole vaping thing. Been smoking for about two years, I realized that my volume was slowly going up, so trying to nip it in the budd.

I have been vaping for a few days now, ordered a Joye 510-T from evapers.com along with some Menthol, Apple and Cig(eww gross) liquid. I would say it is going pretty good, still have the occasional analog, but that is more due to it being habit and me missing the ritual of actually lighting a cigg. I can def feel the difference between an analog and my e-cigg, probably just the extra chemicals I am not getting.

I made my first noob mistake when ordering all my stuff. I ordered extra atomizers, but accidentally ordered 510 atomizers, and not the 510-T that I needed. Lesson learned.

I'm trying to get my mum into it, as she has been a smoker all her life. She's shown interest, which is good.

Hello & welcome!

All is not lost with those atomizers, they will work great for "dripping". Directly drip 2-3 drops of your juice onto the bridge, wait a few minutes to let it soak, & then vape. It is one of the easiest ways to sample flavors, and some of us drip full-time because it gives great flavor and throat hit. You will need to buy a drip tip though unless you want to lip the actual atomizer, which can get hot and is a tad uncomfortable.

Glad to have you here!

Those 510 atomizers will still work with your battery, just not the tank. You can screw in that atomizer, drip 2-3 drops of juice on it, insert the mouthpiece, and vape away. This is the preferred method for lots of people.

Just be sure to blow out the atomizer first -- put the threaded end in your mouth and blow until no more liquid comes out. These atomizers ship with a primer that tastes pretty awful. It takes a few sessions to work that taste out.

Welcome aboard.

Welcome to ECF. You will find information galore and kind folks willing to give you a hand. I haven't been at it for too long but I sure am glad that I took the chance to better my health. It does take a little bit of fiddling and getting to know you gear but it is all worth it.

I smoked for about 40 years and never thought I would be able to get off cigarrettes but lo and behold it just happened due to vaping. I am glad I struggled through my first couple of days, burned taste swallowed juice, you name it. It has been all been worthwhile and I wish more people would understand that this is a viable option. I still smoke about 3 or 4 cigs a day but I have faith that that will end.

Keep working on your mom and be patient with yourself and with her.

Hi there....I know all about the ritual thing. I was having trouble in the beginning with analogs too. One day I realized that I always used to hold a lighter in my hand when I was smoking and that was what I was missing (weird, I know). So I found a lighter that was out of fluid (so I wouldn't accidentally light the end of my e-cig) and I would hold that in my hand while I vaped. I couldn't believe it but that was the trick. I don't need it anymore but I got me through and now I'm going on 21 days w/o a real one. Talk about a pacifier.

Grats!!

BTW Do not drip if you have auto batteries. And just a heads up - if you have automatic battery 510-T then never charge any batteries other than the automatic 510-T batteries on its charger cable (unless the vendor specifically stated he supplied a normal 510 cable). The auto 510-T cables can damage other kinds of 510 and Ego batteries.

Thanks everyone, and no auto batteries here.

I'll try the lighter trick, who knows, it may just work.

Also, tried dripping a few mins ago.
a) I don't think i'm doing it right, i drip a bit on the atomizer, wait a few mins and try using it like i would normally use my cig, but I don't seem to be getting anything, There is a bit if vapor, but much less than if I use my tank. I also get almost no throat hit. I must be doing something wrong.

b) I accidentally got some juice on the drip tip....my god does that burn your tongue
