Howdy. Well I've decided to quit smoking and take up vaping, but I'm having trouble picking my pv. I've narrowed it down to the KR8 and eGo. I've heard lots of good things about both of them since my forum stalking started about a week ago. I'm not really considering the 510 since I want longer lasting batteries. What I'm asking is to swing me one way or the other between the eGo and KR8. Heres the links for the ones I was looking at, 50$ and 35$ respectively.

Joye eGo Starter Kit

BLACK KR-808D-1 HYBRID STARTER KIT

Oh, and if anyone could find a KR8 kit with 2 manual batteries, I would prefer that.

The Ego is really just a 510 variant (510 threading for cartridges of cartomizers) with a bigger battery. There are also bigger battery versions of the KR8 (Elegant and Defender are two).

The difference you probably want to consider is the performance of 510 cartomizers and cartridge/atty combos vs the performance of KR808 cartomizers. There's plenty of debate on the subject. I think the general consesus is 510 equals more vapor - KR8 equals more throat hit. Flavor is subjective so I'll leave that to you.

Good luck.

If you are looking for battery life, you want the eGo. The Kr808 has better battery life than the 510, but not by that much.

Good Luck!:)

I get WAY more battery life out of the Kr808 than I do out of the 510.

The 510 gives me about 2 hours. The Kr808 gives me about 5 hours.

The eGo gives more, for sure, but the Kr808 has really good battery life for its size.

Anyway, you can find the 2 manual batt kits at LiteCigUSA, FreedomSmokeUSA, CigEasy, etc.

If you dont mind a Riva eGo kit you can get then really cheap right now at liberty flights with the 20% off they got going right now. 30 bucks before shipping here is a link Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Riva 510

This is a pretty good deal. Similar to the one the OP chose. The only major difference is this one comes with 1 LR atty while the OP's comes with 2 standard 510 atty's.

@DarkKarma: The Riva's just as good as the one you picked, and this is a good price for it. You'll want to ad another atty or so though.

Right on, thanks for clarifying. :)

It also ships from the US instead of China. They also carry eGo kits for about the same price as the link by the OP. But for 30 bucks i have to force myself not to hit the ADDtoCart button. Although i own a Joye eGo i would not hesitate to buy a Riva with all the good things i have heard about them in here.

Edit: looks at post count :( i guess that counts me out:cry:

Hmm... ships from China always a scary proposition IMO. I've heard it can take a while, or not, but you never know.

Shipping times are not bad really as long as you dont use air mail. What i dont like is if you have a problem and have to ship it back. Costs alot more to ship to china then it does for them to ship here.

I was in a similar boat as you. I read and read and read and watched videos until I decided to get an Ego from Cignot, and a Vapor King XL from vapor4life. Check the stickys in the newbie section. Very helpful.

Wahooooo! alovingmommyof3 you are the the winner!
