Hey guys, I just had a read through these forums and decided, as I am trying to quit, it would be nice to be around others too. A friend of mine who sadly passed away recently used the e cigarette for a year or so and couldnt speak highly enough of it. Now he is gone Its really made me look at my own life and decide I need to take action.

Basically, im not too hot on this E Cigarette scene. Ive seen so many websites claiming to be the best with all these add ons and stuff but I really dont know what is best for me. I have no equipment but desperatly want to quit. I have read other newbies posts on here, but alot of the posts (as you would expect) were tailored for their needs. Here what I suppose im looking for:

-Long lasting battery
-A good hit and taste
-Good quality (wont break easialy as I will use it often)
-Looks like a normal cigarette and comes with a ciggy box to hold it in.

Sorry if this was a bit long to read, but any advice very welcome. :)

Cheers guys
- SatcH

Ecigs that look like a cig and long battery life are two things that don't go together. Even the biggest mah slim ecig is going to need to be charged frequently.
Personally I don't like slim ecigs bc they have horrible battery life and they limit what you can use on them since slim ecigs can only use standard resistance attys and cartos, but if you really want one that looks like a cig check out the smokeless image Volt. The volts the most popular slim ecig

welcome satch!

pls allow me to share my xperience wif u..

i pretty new to the scene and initally was equally confused by the choices of e-cigarettes out the there! believe me, there're TONS of them and all catering to different preferences of different vapers.

as such, i do not think it is possible for one to recommend to you one which YOU would like.. all the points u r looking for and variables which can be usually tweaked by adjusting your mod (that new stick y're vaping) and usually mean customisation would mean spending more money (which does not have to be alot considering how much we've already spent on analogs).

best option i feel would still be to do your own research n decide for yourself.. a better option would be to have a friend who is already in e vaping scene who could guide you step-by-step and answer any questions you may have as you explore.

the brothers n sisters in this forum are a helpful and friendly bunch as i have learnt.

do feel free to ask about any specific brands of PVs you have set yr eyes n ask for opinions and comparison requests.. that would be more directly helpful to you imho..

cheers!

Hi Satch and welcome!

I originally thought I wanted something that looked like an analog (normal cigarette) and so I ordered one but soon realized that the battery life wasn't long enough and it was pretty annoying. I still have that and it's a convenient size to use on-the-go, but I also purchased a KGO with an 1100mAh battery. After going through the initial setup charging process, I'm finding that even though I puff on it all day long, it seems the batteries last nearly 2 full days before needing a recharge.

I also thought that I'd want tobacco-flavored juice but soon realized that other flavors are so much better, to my taste at least! I think you have to experiment a little by buying trial-size eliquid to find the strength and flavor that give you the throat hit and taste you want. The ECF InfoZone was helpful to me in deciding which tobacco level juice for me to start with. (I originally thought that as a pack-a-day smoker I should start with 14mg but soon realized 24mg was more satisfying to me.)

Anyway, I haven't completely quit the analogs, but I am down from 20 every 24 hours or so to 2-4, which I think is quite an accomplishment considering I've only been vaping for a few weeks!

Best of luck in your quest!

There are some newer members who posted they have gotten a day or even two days of battery life from the mini-Volt or the mini-510. People are posting that they are getting 2 and 3 days of use from the Kgo, so it follows that you would be able get a full 12 - 15 hours out of a mini-Volt for example if one can get 2 - 3 days out of a Kgo. You may want to look into those models.

Welcome,

I'm sure you are going to enjoy vaping and you will be buying your first mod (doesn't look like a normal cigarette kind) in no time. Even tho, having slim regular cigarette shape ecigs is a good idea to tuck them into your pocket when going out, that's what I do.

The key is to stay out of getting stucked into buying propietary cartos, attys and so on so you have options of getting around buying generics with no problem but in the category you are looking that is a little complex, anyway even by getting a joyetech 510.

I do believe that vaping is a ladder you should climb step by step and a starter kit is a must after going for more expensive stuff. To avoid the hassle I suggest you what I use the most when going out:

Electronic Cigarettes | E Cigarette | V2 Cigs

I have the case and I always carry at least 2 cartos and two batteries when leaving home.
I suggest you to buy unfilled cartos and get your juice somewhere else, that is part of the experience, the right gear is important, the right juice is very important.

but since kits come with filled cartos, I like Red, Coffee, Sahara, Menthol and Congress from them at 18mg.

Vaping is the next best thing to smoking if you're a smoker. But it's way better than smoking once you start vaping!
My suggestions: If you need one that looks like a cigarette, invest in a starter kit that includes a personal charging case(PCC).
Also, if you get frustrated, don't give up! Come back to ECF and figure out what is going wrong. It may take you a little while to figure out what best suits you're needs and you're wants.
Good Luck!

Heard good things about the volt...... Rule of thumb though - long battery life and cig-lookalike: I don't think that really exists. I started with a Greensmoke, battery life was ok at first but decreased sharply within 2-3 weeks.... I moved on to a Lavatube and I love it. Doesn't have to look like a cigi for me, I only started with that cuz I had no idea what I was doing...... Good luck on your vaping adventure! :vapor:

To the OP:
From your post, it's obvious that you're rather skeptical about e-cigs, and I don't blame you. There are SO many out there, and "until you know, you don't know" which are worthy of your consideration and which are just trash. However, I feel confident enough to impart this to you: Once you find the right combination of device, nic level and juices for you, you will LOVE vaping. Welcome :vapor:

Do you really want something that looks like a cigarette? If so, go with the volt. Many companies online are out to sell you the same ecig and show you reviews rating very similar looking vaporizers. They sell pre-filled cartomizers that you must purchase from them.

Don't do it.

Get a battery with at least 1,000 MAH. It will give you long life and good power.

Get something that is 510 compatible. You can find compatible parts all over the place from reputable stores that sell a wide variety of products. You get to choose your tip, atomizer/cartomizer/juice/tank/clearomizer/etc.

You will be happiest being able to choose what you like and not be limited.

I went through The same thing as you. I wanted to quit and knew that my best chance would be if I felt like I was smoking an analog. I started with the blu and realized it was horrible so I ended up researching and getting the volt.

My suggestion would be to get the pro starter kit. IT gives you 2 batteries, a personal charging case, a USB charger and a pack of cartomizers. Order the longer batteries, they are only $1 more, but last a lot longer. Get the mega pcc, it costs the same but can carry 2 batteries and 3 cartomizers. If you are not sure on flavor, smokeless image offers sampler packs, if you like menthol, the strong sampler is awesome. If you want a 3rd battery, I suggest an x2 from tHem. The small one will give you about 6 1/2 hours of vaping between charges. It works on all of their cartomizers or with a clearomizer. It is bigger (like the size of a cigar) but is great if you are at home. Personally, I use my x2 at home and my standard volt batteries when I am out and about. Their cartos are also some of tHe best I have used. Because of their design, they rarely get that burnt taste. I recently took apart a carto that I had refilled at least 15 times and as 2 weeks old. There was no burning on it at all. You can get the pro kit for $65 before coupons and there is always a 15% to 20% coupon out there

Just to give you some battery life information. I pretty much chain vape. I go through about about 4 cartos a day. On average, I get about 3 hours on the standard volt battery and about 9 hours on my 900 x2.
