hi!
So I have tried a few different E-cigs on the market, the kind you can by at a drugstore or gas station. I haven't found one that I like yet but I really want to quit smoking. I purchased an N'Joy disposable but I think I grabbed one that was too strong, as it hurt too much in the throat to actually enjoy. I have also tried another brand, though I can't recall the name of it, but it wasn't a disposable, it was a rechargable with atomizers, but again, was too strong. I am thinking maybe the nicotine content is too high? Anyway, I am looking for advice on a good product that is similar to what I already smoke. I prefer menthol always, and right now I am smoking Camel Menthols (with the crush in it). They are really strong compared to other menthols but they don't give me any problems in the throat, which is why i found it odd that the E-cigs were. Does anyone have any suggestions of brands I should try that are mild in the throat hit but still effective? I am going to pick a Blu disposable here soon to give it a shot. Thanks!

The throat hit is always a little stronger the first few puffs of the day for me. I remember the same feeling when I switched to vapor as well. Some people have an allergy to PG in e-liquid. I doubt you do because the symptoms are kind of extreem. http://bombvapor.com/index.php?page...ategory_id=12&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=46 I would try this set up . He has some pretty good menthol flavors as well. Also, try to start around 50/50 PG/VG ratio. The PG or propylene glycol is the main part of the mixture that gives you throat burn. Alot of vendors will let you select 100% VG which for me still gives a nicethroat hit. I hope you can decypher my ramble and good luck. I'm sure you will get some good feedback here. P.S. alot of folks say gas station e-cigs are a big let down. I have never tried one myself.

Becca has good advice. I'm new to all this and all I can say is hang in there.

Once you get away from the gas station ecigs you will find an entire industry out there for you. It's not cheap or easy tho, takes a little research & trial & error. The suggestion to try an ego starter kit is a good one. You will spend $60-70, and can buy some killer USA made ejuice online like from Halo or Aroma juice. Their menthol favors are amazing.

Keep at it & keep searching this forum for info.

Hi snd welcome....I don't think you're going to get what you want with look a like e cigs. May want to consider an ego brand. Very basic and very reliable. Do a little research on them on the vaping sites and you'll be on your way. Save your money on the others and look into a reliable..two battery...system. Becca

Skip the look a likes and get you a set up.
There is a lot of information on these forums and it can be overwhelming at first. If you disclose your budget I'm sure you will get a lot of good suggetions.

I agree with a good eGo style starter kit. Add in a few bottles of juice, maybe some spare parts, and that is all you'll really need. If you're a pack a day smoker, you'll be money ahead in a couple of weeks.

Some of us, however, go completely out of our minds. Bigger batteries, variable voltage, mods, cortos, clearos, tanks, DIY juice mixing stuff.....it can go on and on! If I can control myself, I should break even in a couple or three months. So while this can become an expensive hobby, it need not be. With a little restraint, it can be an inexpensive and heathy alternative to smoking.

I would reccomend an ego type starter kitthey are available for under $30.
Do a little research and get yourself a sample pack or two of eJuice. I was a 3pad newport light smoker, I started with menthol ejuice but have switched mainly to tobaccos. There are so many great eJuices and so little time..........

Smokeless Image battery size comparisons.jpg

The cigarette size batteries are actually a poor choice all the way around. The batteries are just two weak and don't last long, requiring the vapor to bring several with him to last out a day. A setup that large is pretty expensive.

The larger mid-size "ego style" is about the size of a cigar, and work out to be a much more satisfying experience if you truly want to get off of tobacco. You'll soon find out the larger size factor is all in your own mind, and the size is easily ignored because of the better performance of the larger batteries.

I spend a good deal of time here in the new members forum helping new vapors get started. I put together an ideal beginner setup in the following link:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/369128-what-kit-start-2.html#post8306912

I also put together a picture dictionary of the more commonly used juice delivery devices that sit on top of the batteries and make the vapor. All work a little differently and everyone has their own preference of which one works best for them.

Good luck on your vaping journey.

As others said, get a starter kit for eGo or Joye. (I got a 510 kit and 510-T tank/atty, with spares, juice sampler, etc for about $100 delivered.)

Get a variety of flavors and strengths - that was my mistake. I got a few flavors, but only 2 strengths (16/18 and 24) - turns out I'll sit around chain-vaping and the 16 is a little strong for that. (OTOH the 24 is pretty much mandatory first thing in the morning.)

YMMV but consider getting something weaker and something stronger, so you can experiment. And if the blu works for you, you'll be insanely amazed at how well a good kit will work. (You aren't alone with the N-Joy. I tried it a year or so ago and it was beyond terrible. I'd have done better to dip cotton balls in nail polish and eat them on fire..)
