Hi everyone : )

So, i quit smoking and started vaping a month ago. I had a green smoke kit, but both batteries stopped working, so now I have a 510. I don't know if I'm filling it correctly. I'm getting a good amount of vapor, but it seems like I have to add more liquid every time I vape. Is that right?? It seems inconvenient compared to the green smoke carts, which I never had to mess around with at all. Is there a better way to do this?

Yes, that's not unusal. The polyfill that comes with the carts don't seem very absorbent or something...I finally gave up on them. It's a tough problem, and there are mods out there (high ping, teabag etc) but they haven't worked for me. I finally went to dripping...drip 3-4 drops directly onto the bridge of your atty. You'll get from 3 to 4 to many hits with this method. Why the hits vary is behond me; I'm new too.

One thing I tried that worked for a while was just to roll up a regular tea bag and cut it to fit. The first time I did it it was awesome but I've not been able to duplicate it since, thus the DD. Good luck

I found the same thing. I have been direct dripping for the last few days, and only fill a cart when I am going to be on the go all day, or in the car driving. I am tempted to try a box of cartomizers, since I hear they are more convenient, and do not need to be filled up quite as often. Its just a slight more costly, as the cartomizers (cartridge and atomizer built as one, and meant to be more disposable than a normal attomizer.

I liked the TBM in the beginning, and found that it leaked. Then I tried cutting half of the filler off of a new cartridge, and this seems to work great, but I find that the poly fill just doesnt act the same way once refilled once or twice, so the material needs to be changed. I am hearing the best medium to refill with is fluval water polishing pad.

Good luck!

Great advice. You could also try some Low resistance cartomizers (2 ohm). They give a nice throat hit and you do not need to fill as often. You loose a little vapor porduction versus dripping but but it is worth it for the convevience.

Thanks. I think I will try some of the cartomizers. Either way, the 510 is so much better than the green smoke, which broke constantly.

BTW you did not state if you are using auto or manual batteries. If auto do not drip, the juice can get iside the battery compartment and kill it

I started on the 510 about 5 months ago, and have since moved up to the ego... heh, just realized I haven't used a standard cart/atty combination in probably 3 weeks! I drip at home or in the office with a delrin tip and LR atty, or use LR cartomizers when driving. The cart/atty setup was ok at first... but yeah, the stock carts don't wick very well, and even the mods (some of which work quite well) leak a lot. Cartos aren't all *that* much more expensive than carts, are easier to fill, and hold more, not to mention less messy. Also, I found that while the 510 system is really great, when you go low-resistance it's awesomeness incarnate. Get a pack of regular cartos, one of LR cartos, and a drip tip (I like the Delrin over stainless steel; it just feels better). That won't set you back too much, and it'll give you some options to try out.

Godzilla, if you want to get away from carts & the hassle of carrying a bottle around to drip, consider a REO, REO Mini, or Phidias - all "bottom feeders" that use a 3ml or 6ml dispenser bottle depending on the model, and a much larger battery. I have all 3 and use all of mine with 510 and LR510 attys. No dripping, no carts to fill, and all of them will get you through a full day of heavy vaping without dripping, refilling, or battery charging. All of them are well designed and function perfectly.

I second the blue foam mod for the carts. Different people do different things, and you'll find what works for you, but this is what works for me. I don't like dripping, and I have some cartomizers, but I just don't like them as much as the carts/attys. They vape a little hotter, for one thing. The blue foam solved my problems with the carts so now I'm a happy camper. There are several videos on youtube about how to modify your carts using it.
