So I have finally decided it's time to make the switch. I've been smoking for years, middle school times and a few of the guys I work with told me e cig will be the best way to go. With all the mods and countless other options it's a bit overwhelming for someone just starting out. I'd love some guidance as to what I should be looking for to start out. Thank you so much in advance and can't wait to hear from all of you!

Hi Brizz and welcome. It is overwhelming indeed.

Can you tell us more about yourself? How much do you smoke? Are you looking for a cigalike--something that looks like a cigarette? Are you willing to use a larger (more powerful) and much better device? A box-shaped battery? How much are you willing to invest?

Most things vape are a matter of personal preference but there are a couple of standards. It's VERY important to have VV/VW and adjustable air flow. Each juice has it's own sweet spot as does each vaper. I have several different batteries from the little 650 mah ego to the 3800 mah Bacchus. The 2 most popular tanks are the Kangers and the Nautilus'. There are several versions of each. I know, it's a bit overwhelming. How many $$$ you are willing to devote to vaping also plays a role in the whole thing.
My opinion, is to start with a MVP 2.0 and a Kanger V2. You're going to get many suggestions on what to start with but what you start vaping with is secondary to getting off the analogs and starting to vape !!! JMHO

I would honestly start out with the MVP2.0 made by innokin... I went though a lot of ciggalikes and ego batteries before I found what worked 2 get me off analogs... The reason is the power of the MVP2.0 will deliver a nice throat hit at 11 watts and u can adjust it 2 your preferences... The other reason is their ProVari type reliability for a cheap price... Right now Vapor World has them for 40 bucks with an I clear 30 B starter kit which is a steal and comes with a decent attomizer up top... I would eventually upgrade the attomizer to the Aspire Nautalis though awesome tank

to ecf brizz. So glad you are here and congrats on the decision to give vaping a try. I will have to say it is the only thing that has helped me give up a 40 some year habit. I started out on cigalikes and quickly moved to the ego stay battery. I was happy but not very pleased with the battery life. I was a heavy smoker. I then went to the mvp2 which I now wish I had started out with. It is easy to use, very dependable and has a fantastic battery life. I am reading very good things about the istick right now and you might want to look into that. Both are very affordable. I look forward to reading what you end up buying and more about your vaping journey.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate asking. There are always some pretty awesome people here that wants to help you anyway they can. Good luck to you and have fun.

brizz Hello and Welcome to the ECF. I did alot of reading and started with Vision Spinner ll Topped with the Aspire Nautilus Tank and will still be using it away from home fishing etc though I am picking up the MVP 2. Again It matters what type of unit you are looking for to start your journey.

I started with a evod with a pro tank to get started but that didn't quite satisfy me so I got into mods. If you wanted to get into the more advanced side of vapeing with mods and stuff and start tinkering with builds and such there are a lot of YouTube videos that will give you all the info you need to know about started out with mods and safety.

I've been smoking since I was 11 so for half my life there has been a camel wide in my mouth. I'm at about a pack 1/2 a day (quite an improvement) I've tried many friends cig-a-like e-cigs at work. I work at a bar so they are a plenty. I recently made another post but based on your guys opinions and all that I've come down to the kanger emow, joytech emode, itaste mvp 2, and the itaste vtr. Price isn't too crazy until I pass 200. I'm looking for great quality, many options, and something to expand upon like many do once they start getting into vapes. Would you say I'm on the right track or steering a bit off?

YOu're an the right track alright!

The VTR is very heavy and unwieldy--just saying.

If you're OK with a box-shaped battery, the MVP2 is your best bet. I own two and I love them--and I'm looking forward to the MVP--soon to be released. Top it with a few good clearomizers--I really like Kanger products--and you'll be set for a while.

I also like the idea of a physical battery that can be removed and replaced for those bar nights where I work until 4am and run out. A smoke is always needed after those bar shifts.

The MVP2 has 2600 mAh capacity--it will last you 2 days, no matter how much you vape! :D
