Well, there's a new study out claiming that e-cig vapor contains levels of carcinogens comparable to real cigarettes. From the French National Consumer's Institute, and published in their magazine 60 MIllions Consommateurs (60 Million Consumers), the study seems to have been issued in support of the current effort to add e-cigarettes to the ban on smoking in public places in France.
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find a copy of the study online to evaluate it, but of course we all know that many other studies have been done that contradict it. Trace amounts of a handful out of the 40 or so known carcinogens in tobacco cigarettes, at barely detectable and biologically insignificant levels thousands of times lower than tobacco cigarettes, yes. But nothing on a par with tobacco smoke. Still, if anyone knows where to find the study, I would appreciate a link.
