Don't know if anyone else has run into this problem with the mini Davide. Had one for a month bought from a local vendor. Enjoyed using it. Purchased two from ******** as well as two of the bigger sized ones. When I unboxed the minis, noticed a difference in diameter between the lst one I had and the new ones. The new ones have the same width as the mini ProTank whereas my lst one is wider.

The boxes they came in were the same as my lst with the exception of a sticker that had a prone oval with line thru the middle and the number 14 next to it = gauge. Meaning the new ones are less heavy as the metal is thinner gauge.

Nowhere can I find that AnyVapes has changed their measurements in the mfg. of the mini Davides. The owner of ********* was kind enough to call and assure me these were OEM and not knockoffs, and that there had been a problem with the colored replacement tubes not fitting.

However, I've gotten in all colors of the replacement tubes from ********. The tubes do not fit either the 1st mini I had or the new ones that just came in. I am now sitting on 5 useless glass tubes; however, they did come with 2 gaskets each that do work on both ends of both sizes of all 3 minis. I've left a message with ********** last night and haven't heard back from yet.

The battery box the tubes came in from ******** has the green AnyVape sticker on it.

Does anyone know what's happening here? Seems the mini Davide is now more identical to the mini PT size. I can use the mini PT tube in the new mini Davide. Fits fine. I expect some colored replacement mini PT tubes in today. We'll see what happens there.

NO matter what the owner of the store said... the number of clones and fakes out there is significant. If you aren't getting them from a company that purchases directly from the manufacturer or authorized distributors such as GotVape's does... you have no idea if it is the real one or not. Most smaller B & M's ( or online vendors ) aren't able to buy direct because they can't afford to get enough quantity to ... so they must get them from distributors.

Oh... just so you know, you are posting in the GotVape's forum area and not the general ECF forum... so linking to or mentioning other vendors isn't really very cool.... just sayin'

Oh my gosh, new to posting anywhere and did not know this! My apologies. Meanwhile, I've recontacted the two vendors and told them what I found. (1) the mini PT colored replacement glass tubes fit the new version (smaller) of the mini Davide, and (2) the glass tubes I bought for the lst Davide I had which is fatter do fit the tank. I had unfortunately tried only one of the colors before my above post. I should have tried all of them first. Only the purple one doesn't fit, and I retried that one several times as it's a favorite color. In any event, whether I get the old fatter version or the newer slimmer version, I'm covered. Whew! Was happy to relay this to the venors for future reference.

By the way, just how does one go about finding out if a vendor buys directly from the mfg?

If the vendor is worth their salt and at least pay the least amount of attention to the markets.... they already know about fakes and clones.

The only way to know where a company buys from is to ask them... but you must first know for certain that you can trust what they tell you... many will lie if they know they aren't carrying the real thing.

Gotvapes is pretty open about where they get their products... the only issue is that like all other vendors, they don't always know exactly when they will get their shipments in... they can only estimate it based on what the manufacturer has told them. The best thing to do in these cases... is to not expect anything until after you've heard it made it into the States and then at times, customs will not release a shipment quickly... so that makes it hard to estimate arrival times accurately.

IMO you take the name of the owner and Google the history of their practices and site/s... Then read through all you find under that persons name and decide for yourself if that is a place you trust to shop. In your research you will find the truthful and the not so truthful venders... Just my theory Mind you. No easy way to know about manufacturing but to ask and asking does not always net the truth.... Again that's just me twitting off...
