I've made much use of this excellent forum to help me make purchasing decisions.

I bought a starter kit from www.e-ciggy.com.au and one of the clearomizers was DOA. Strange, but just can't get the damn thing to go. Given that it's one low-value item in a bundle that was on special I didn't expect much, but I emailed www.e-ciggy.com.au telling them of my plight and 3 minutes later they replied, apologizing, and informing me they'd send a replacement. I was expecting store credit at best. Very impressed.

Then I created an account so I should reward their excellent customer service by letting the community know, and swiftly discovered that new users can only post in here.

That brings us up to date.

Thanks to all for this wonderfully useful forum.

Welcome to the forum, Phasechange! Always thrilled to here about a great vendor that knows the meaning of quality service and it's a service to your fellow Aussies that you mentioned them (sounds like they deserve it).

BTW, a common cause for atty/clearo/carto "failure" is poor/no contact on the center pin. If your clearo has an adjustable center pin (can be screwed in/out), try adjusting out a bit. If not, another very common reason is that the center pin of the battery gets pushed down and does not "spring" back as far as it should. This is usually caused by over-tightening your atomizing device (atty/clearo). So, 1) when screwing on your atty, stop just a half turn or so after you feel it make contact with the center pin (you feel resistance) and 2) you can usually pull the center pin on the battery up with a small flat-bladed screw driver or the like...just be careful to ooch it up just a little and don't apply to much force.

Thanks all. I'll try to remember to repost my positive experience in the appropriate forum once I've hit the required postcount.

DizGrizz, thanks for the help. I've tried various forms of fiddling to try to get it to work, and I have managed on two occasions to get the briefest puff of vapour out of it, which is weird but does point in the direction of poor center-pin contact as you suggested. I've since bought some other clearomizers and cartomizers and they work fine with both my Ego-T batteries. I'm poking the faulty unit right now and it doesn't seem to be adjustable. Given it seems to be a lost cause at this point I think I'll get more aggressive with tools. If I don't reply in five minutes then I've died in a spectacular and improbable clearomizer-adjustment accident. Remember me.

Hello Phasechange

Sounds like one of the tails isn't sitting properly, especially if it's intermittent.
I wouldn't be that hasty to forgo a replacement.

Final update on this matter I suspect: e-ciggy.com.au mailed me this morning (on a Saturday, no less) to tell me they've shipped my replacement CE4, mentioning that it's a good idea to have spares. They've definitely earned repeat business from me. I don't think they're generally the cheapest Australian e-cig hardware vendor but their range is good and their customer service is clearly exceptional.

Seems you made the right call, sometimes it doesn't want to work, so I needn't feel bad about the vendor sending me a replacement at their expense. Still, they've definitely earned a repeat customer.

Isn't it refreshing when a vendor remembers Goodwill is one of the most important fundamentals to good PR and customer service?
Replacing something faulty not because they have to but because they want to without drama and without having to play an extended game of 20 questions. Very rare these days.
Good for you and well done to e-ciggy.com.au for earning such a rewarding customer.:)
