I use both button tops (AW 1600's) and flat tops (VTC5's). I prefer the firing button action with the buttons (the throw is less), but I'd be driven nuts by the shorter life of the 1600's in lower ohm dual builds.

My usual builds are between .45 and .5 ohms. I get about 4ml of juice on an AW 1600 battery.

You can live vicariously thru me Roger. I just snagged 4.

Thanks for the heads up :)

I'll be the guinea pig / jump on the grenade / take one for the team ;)

Well done indeed!
Nobody assigned this mission to Russ. He(and his credit card) have willingly and on his own accord ventured off onto this battery recon expedition where the outcome remains uncertain.
Russ, be assured that as you pace the floor while on mailman alert that your fellow REOnauts will be at your side, pacing with you in spirit. Try to keep us current on your progress when you can.
Good luck.:)

I definitely prefer button tops over flat tops in the Reo. It makes a tangible difference with switch throw, and I don't feel like I'm mashing to fire. I've noticed less arcing problems too, but it could just be in my head/pure coincidence, because I've been told/corrected that it doesn't make a difference regarding that, and I have no reason to disbelieve the good people that have told me so.

Cheers

Put 4 in the cart just now! Can't wait to see how they do in the EDNA. RTD is my go to for batts. Great service and always fast shipping. I wouldn't be surprised if they show up tomorrow. LOL Just kidding, they'll be here Monday no doubt. Enjoy the day!:2cool:

Not Monday. It's Columbus Day [emoji16]

I'd say they are good to go .3 mm is exactly the thickness of one of Rob's business cards, according to my calipers.:vapor:

That's a curiously odd and cool comparison at the same time. Perhaps this should be a unit of measure - the RBC ("Yeah, I drilled my RM2 air hole to 7 RBC and it's hitting like a champ now")

For sure that difference is not an issue for woodvils but the verdict is still out on how good they are.

Of course you're right, Gil. A prudent vaper would wait until testing or at least some further evidence indicates these batteries are a good choice. It's the logical thing to do.
But what if its only a small factory run and they sell out quickly and the turmoil in China somehow prevents another round of production and guys like Russ start touting what wonderful batteries they are and taunting those of us who were too chicken to jump on the bandwagon and my aging 1600's totally give up the ghost and I have to fall back on the even older Ultrafires that are hidden in a locked drawer in my closet for fear someone would see that I once used them?
Now don't you think its worth the risk?
