kayfun Lite + with 1.5 ohm @ 11.5 watts, 4.2 volts
Sony VTC5 2600 mAh lasted 5 hours 45 minutes till low battery showed
Efest Purple 35A 2500 mAh lasted 6 hours and 50 minutes till low battery showed.

Did you chain vape for all that time? :p

Sorry, just joking :vapor:

My collection of batteries, now 2 years old almost, are holding their charge for less and less time, so I need to choose some new ones.

There are the Sony vtc*, said by some to be best, or Panasonic, which are a pretty good mark, or the Efest Purple collection, and now LG with their high power batteries. And probably other marks which I don't want to even THINK about!

Panasonic give you 3400mAh, and with a button on the top for 1€ more, which, TBH, is in some cases a big advantage, and in other situations a PITA.

I want 3 or 4 for me and 3 for my friend, in 18650, and a couple of 18350's for driving. We both use electronic and mechanical Mods.

And it's as much of a hassle choosing batteries as it is buying a tank or clearomiser, or even a battery holder Mod! OMG!

When I started vaping I just bought the least expensive, highest mAh batteries available, but now it's a real BIG decision  .
It was so easy when I was a real newbie, and hadn't read reports on tel or tel battery, and the online shops had just one or two marks to choose from.:) Happy, carefree days...aahh! I do miss being ignorant ;)

I think I'll go for 2 without buttons and 2 with, Panasonic. The price is reasonable, and the other Panasonics I have are the longest living ones, despite getting dropped in water, with my Mod! They're a bit rusty but they still work!
And maybe I'll get a couple of 18350's as powerful as possible for driving (my battery holders are all adjustable from 18650 down to 18350, and smaller battery holders are easier when you drive. I've even bought a Nano set for my KFL's :D ). I saw some that were 900mAhs, which is pretty good, IMO, for a mini battery. That is if I can remember which ones they were!

But even buying Mods has never caused so much faffing about, and indecision as buying new batteries. It's come to be a real head buster, with so many different advices, marks, and reviews!

I mean I get my flavour choosing done faster than battery choices. And I'm very difficult about flavours, and DIY my juice to the tenth of a milliliter of this or that... But battery choice has driven me crazy, really.

Has any one else climbed the walls, or been fitted with a strait jacket when they try to choose new batteries? Or is it only me? :(

My only hope now is to be still sane of mind when they're delivered...:p

I hear ya Starlyte2. It is confusing and complicated, specially if you want to get that last couple of minutes of vape time from your battery.

Here's how I deal with it.

Gotta be IMR or hybrid for safety. I'm not going to vape a ICR battery even if it is protected.

Choosing buttons or not depends on if you need either in your mods, so that's simple.

Amp draw is reasonably simple too, your batteries have to supply safe current at your highest power level. I vape at 0.4 ohms minimum on mechanical mods, 10.5A. I chose batteries that deliver at least twice that continuous, so at least 20A. These batteries are easily available these days so this is not an issue. I have smaller batteries that have lower max current capability and I use them accordingly.

For me mAh rating is the most confusing part of choosing a battery. Lower amp draw generally gives you more mAh, but as I think you know it's not that simple . For this decision I go to the battery performance charts and try to figure out what is best for my application(s).

IMO this would be really tough if I wanted to get the ultimate vape time from my batteries, like I said earlier. So I do my research and make up my mind to the best of my ability. If I end up paying $10.50 a battery and it turns out I could have got one for $9.50 that would have given me 10% more vape time and lasted 10% more charge cycles, well s happens and I don't sweat it. I'm still saving a lot of money compared to smoking, I'm way healthier and I've chosen the safest batteries I could.

For me, 18560s right now are Sony VTC series but I think Samsungs are right up there too. 18500s are AW and 18350 are AW.

If I used mainly regulated mods that might well be different.

Stay sane, stay safe and vape on :)
