Slim 510 has to use standard resistance. Low resistance runs hotter can only be used by batteries over 450mah like fat battery models Ego and Riva. High resistance is for high voltage mods.

And buy real Joye 510 batteries and I strongly recommend manual batteries

Most people find atty+carts annoying. I think they are good for testing new juice (get the precut blue foam stuffing at strictlyejuice.com - easy to rinse and pat dry). I prefer to use a drip tip to test new juices (don't drip with auto batteries - manuals only). Some people like to vape by dripping. I put my favorite juices in Boge cartomizers and slim 510 needs the standard resistance ones. I vape Boge cartos all almost all of the time. if filled properly and kept damp a Boge carto should work well for a week of more though thick juices may shorten that. Cartos are also safer on manual batteries since if a carto leaks it will do do right above the hole in the end of an auto 510 and right inside there is the auto's drag sensor.

look for Joye 510 batts for guaranteed quality first of all.

Low resistance is for 3.7 volt devices high resistance is for 6 volt. the lowest resistance you can uses on a 510 batt is 2Ω.lower will kill your batt unless you go to 450 mah or higher.

Resistance effects the flow of power threw the heating element in your atty/carto. by adjusting the the resistance you adjust the wattage. 6-9 wats I find tend to be the "goldilocks zone" not too hot not to cool. too cool, not enough vapor, flavor, throat hit. too hot, just a bunch of burned nastyness.

A good formula to use to find what resistance is good for your unit it Volt x Volt / oHm.

Example: For a 510 with 2Ω atty/carto it would work out 3.7v x 3.7 v = 13.69 / 2Ω = 6.8 watts.

keep in mind the lower the resistance the faster the drain on the battery you may want to think about a battery with a bigger capacity (maH) like an eGo style unit or a PCC to charge your 510 on the go.

If you want to stick with 510 stay between 2Ω-2.5Ω. 2.5 attys are what most 510's come with.Boge 2.0 cartomizers are my personal favorite for 510.

Hope this helps. Happy vaping!!

Check them out. They are going out of business, so it would be a great opportunity to get a Genuine Joye 510 starter kit for $25! 50% OFF!! But, they only have white left and it is a manual battery. I've been contemplating getting one just to drip with. I know that it won't hurt my ego batteries bc they are sealed, but I just don't like the idea of all that sticky juice dumping into the threads of my nice *new ego batts... :( And I've seen that everyone suggest Boge Cartomizers, get the ones that are 2.8-3.0 ohms for standard 510 batts as the 1.8-2.0 ohms would just kill it. The atty / cartridge combo is really a PIA! It produces nice clouds of vapor, but you constantly have to refill as most don't hold as much liquid ad cartomizers... and they leak a little easier IMO

As BGabe said, on a slim 510 battery don't use 2 ohms. Use the standard resistance which in the cartos is the 2.8-3.0 ohms. Ego and Riva 510 fat battery models and 510 threaded mod with 450mah or bigger batteries can use the 2.5 and 2.0 cartos and attys in that range. The real mods with he removable industrial-type batteries can use lower too.
