its not dead. it means that it went dry. Try putting a 3 drops of juice directly inside the atty on the wick.

Dead means it wont vape at all and you do not hear any sizzling sound when trying to vape.

Do you drip or use cartridges?

I am using cartridges. I use blue foam with several drops on top of that.

Honestly, I had the same problem. Carts and fillers are a nightmare. Just invest in a Delrin drip tip from super-t and/or some 510 cartomizers. You'll be very happy with either purchase. I know that I am.

Nice ninja edit, btw.

510 cartomizers burn their filling, I dunno how happy people are when they figure out they are inhaling burned plastic …

Dripping is neat but inconvenient; personally, Fluval+Straw works perfectly for me, I get to refill around 12 drops on my eGo, which isn't exactly bad, and it leaks only when I overfill.

As for mouthfulls of "juice" it isn't, it's condensed water with traces of juice, and if there is that much of it, it's often a sign of puffing to short and hard. Some of it is normal, though, but easily remedied by blowing out the cart once in a while; obviously, when refilling is a good time to do it. Just blow from the end you usually draw from, don't forget a paper towel underneath.

IDK, I've had way more burning with a standard 510 cart. I never noticed any burning with the soft top 510 cartos but I'm pretty good about topping them off every once in a while which isn't too often. Then again I haven't touched my cartos since I got my drip tip.

I also don't see how dripping is any less convenient than messing around with carts and fillers but I never found anything that worked for me and got a bit tired of playing around with fillers.

You do have way more experience vaping than I do so I think that the op should at least try the fluval and straw method. I'm just stating whats been working for me.

I agree totally Alex I tried a few of them from many places just to see and ripped alot of them apart to only find the black burnt insides. I kept them as wet as could be and never let them go dry. It is the nature of the beast it seems. I believe they are more throw away and dont want to take the chances

I've had 510 and 901 attys burn poly and PTB filler too. I've also had 510 attys burn the wick all the way through. No matter what you use, something has to wick the juice to the atty, and eventually that is going to burn. All this hysteria over burning cartos is a load of crap. I've never tasted anything strange while using cartos, but when I drip on 901 attys, as soon as it gets just a little bit dry, I get a horrible burnt dog hair taste. Whatever is causing that taste has to be at least as bad as whatever is being released when the carto filler gets singed.

Until one of the manufactures gets smart and starts making fiberglass-filled carts or cartos, you're always going to be burning something.

Funny you should say that - because the wick in 510 atties is fiberglass. It can get very dirty, but you can get it clean again. I have not found a way to get those holes in cartos to mend themselfes again.

And cartos don't have to taste funny to have burn holes, as countless people have said.

As for burned cart fillings: I've heard that so often - where's the proof? Never seen any, but again, countless pics of burn holes in carto filling.

I couldn't care less if people want to inhale that or don't care, but I do wonder why people run around and claim it doesn't happen …

Excellent question; I never found that thread again here in the forum. Gotta put one up one of these days … try the pics on this page, they should tell you all you need to know: So läufts besser: Q-Tips und Aquarienwatte fürs Depot Dampfzeichen
