Not sure what's going on. Got Dark Horse couple weeks ago. shop built a 0.8 Dual Coil Build with 26g. Worked perfectly. Tried having them do a 0.5 Dual Coil Build with 24g. I'm getting dry hits after about 2 hits.
With the 0.8 build I was vaping between 50-75 watts no problem. With the 0.5 build I've tried between 50-60 watts. It's not a wicking problem. I had the shop who did the coil build wick it for me, then tried having it re-wicked at another shop when I was buying new liquid, and then tried rewicking it myself with different types of cotton. Using various liquids with various vg/pg ratio. One liquid doesn't seem to dry hit whereas several others dry hit constantly after 2 hits. The build does get hot and there seems to be a bit of liquid still left on the cotton. But again, I know it's not a wicking problem. I've wicked a bunch of times with the 0.8 build and no problems.
Not sure what's going on. I always thought, the lower the ohms you go, the more you can pump up the wattage. But noticing how hot the build gets, I'm guessing that's actually not true.
Attached is picture of the 0.5 build.
