new but not beginner, battery question

Alright, I guess I have to start posting in here since I'm a "newb"
as stated, not a beginner, I've been vaping for at least 6 months, tried few different types of e-cigs and even built my own at one point (using readily available atty) and tried every type of cart mod there is in the modders forum.
I apologize for posting a technical question like this in the new member forum, but they don't leave me any other choice for being a newb :-/
here's my question, on a brand new 801 battery, what should the voltage be?

Hello oceanisbleu! Welcome to ECF. I'm not an 801 user myself, but found a thread here that might be of help to you. I'll post it below. Also, looking through that thread myself - and again, I'm not familiar with the 801 - it appears that 3.7v is the standard and that the batteries are not supposed to drop 3.2 volts ever. I suggest reading the thread for yourself as it many mean a lot more to you than it does to me.

tandard e-cig batteries run at ~3.7 volts.

Do not trust this answer. I am not sure. This a guess.

well all 801 batteries are rated at 3.2 or 3.3 to 4.2 operation range by the manufacturers, they cut out at 3.2 or 3.3 now the problem is that i've purchased a few batteries from vaporkings and 2 have been 3.5v batteries which yield very little usage since one cart is enough to use up .2 volts (vapor consistency is horrible too under 3.5v) which if you ask me is no comparison to a 4.2v battery which is what my old ones are measuring, what are your thoughts?
after emailing vaporkings they replaced the first one saying that it's defective if it puts out 3.5v and after the second one they said that it's pretty standard and if I purchase their batteries they can't guarantee their batteries measuring 3.5+ of course this leads me to question the age & or quality of the batteries they stock.
I don't want to be a pain in the neck for the vendor but I'm trying to figure this out so I can decide whether or not I should buy batteries from them at all at this point, anyone know of any other US based distributors? I hate ordering stuff from china...
