I decided to pick up a Blu e-cig "disposable" from a local gas station. I like the concept, and it has removed my want to smoke analogs and use chewing tobacco. A friend of mine has the complete Blu kit, and I was thinking about going that route. From what I have read so far, it seems that these Blu brand cigs are somewhat of a beginners thing, or at least not very well liked by the majority. Just looking here for some advice and information. First question, is it possible to re-use this "disposable" Blu e-cig in any way? It almost seems to well-built to just throw away.

Somewhere out there
Welcome!! If you want to stick with a slim ecig, I suggest Halo G6 If you want to go more power and don't care if it looks like ciggy, lots of other options out there as well like GLV. I am going to try their super mini but it does not look like an analog. Watch reviews and find something that has a high rate of positives. Welcome to the vaping world it is so much fun! bnrk

The Blu disposable is way better than the Blu kit....world of difference. (I started out with both) The starter kit batteries do not last long enough to keep up with a moderate vapor. Tell us more about your smoking habits and you will get tons of useful advice! (how much and what you smoke) I moved on to an ego-T and a Riva SE and both are so much better than the Blu was.
Congratulations on the first step and welcome to ECF!

I started with Blu Cigs and if they are rechargeable you can reuse them. Only problem is you have to buy more blu cig stuff and that is not the best idea, but it is do able. They sell complete rechargeable kits on their website. If you like the blu you will love the Volt from smokelessimage.com. Or you can skip things that look like cigarettes all together and go for more power and more battery life. Also there is variable voltage Ego's or other mods that have replaceable batteries. There are tons of options, and not all of them expensive.

If you want something a bit better than Blu

Joye 510 manual (manuals are safest from being damaged or killed by juice leaks, and make it much easier to get a good hit). And I recommend using a drip tip (on manuals only) for testing juices and standard resistance cartomizers for your favorite juices (works better than atomizer + cartridge which are supplied). For the standard short size 510 batteries there is a nice PCC at NoSmokeVA.com (as nice and roomy as the Blu PCC). NOTE - never ever mix Blu and 510 chargers - Blu is reverse electrical polarity and its chargers will fry a 510 and vice versa. And for 510 I recommend only Joye brnad though the brand at NoSmokeVA may be OK (at least we know its polarity is correct since it works in their PCC)

KR808D-1 manuals (either Vapor4Life or the SmokelessImage/Bloogplanet/Halocigs G6 style) - these have plenty of prefilled cartomizers as well as blanks and on a manual for testing juices you can use a standard resistance dse901 atomizer (or other using an adapter) plus a drip tip. The only PCCs for these are flat packs that don't hold much.

Beyond those are fat battery long charge models and mod that can use the hotter low resistance (low ohms) atomizers and cartomizers. These include Ego and Riva 510

And everything needs eliquid - you will be filling blank cartomizer or refilling prefilled ones to get 4-7 days use out of each or more. You need to keep them damp so you don't singe them because singed taste sticks.

So many choices, and so little time.
Doesn't matter what you started with as long as it worked for you. Doesn't matter much what you end up with either, as long as it works for you. So just enjoy the ride, it's a good one.
If you want you can drop about $500 for a nice GG outfit, or you can make your own PV for next to nothing. The PV that I am using right now cost me $2.20 to build. There is no shortage of choices.

The one piece of advice that I would give is that if you see it advertised on TV or in a mag, chances are that it's over priced for what it is. So scroll down to the list of vendors listed here on ECF and look around.

For me personally, there is no way that I would be satisfied with just one PV for very long. I like a variety of vaping experiences.

I'm new to all of this as well but I think you can refill your blu cig until you find something else you like. I wrote something to help friends and family in case they want to switch to disposables.... C. S. Without Wax: The beginning of my electronic cigarette experience.. just a basic step by step for refilling those cartridges... I use Johnson Creek at the moment but I'm sure this method will work with any kind of e-juice.

+1 on that. Exactly my experience. Now I have 2 ePower units, and am unloading my white Blue Premium Starter Kit over in the classifieds section, hoping to trade it for some supplies I can use. BUT, I will give Blu credit for the fact that they worked well enough to show me that I wanted to keep vaping.

    And...welcome, Beholder!

Thanks to all of the helpful information! This forum looks like it will prove to be my best resource a far as vaping goes. When I was smoking, about a year and a half ago, I was smoking almost two packs a day of Newport. Then I went to chewing because of my job. I'm used to a very high nicotine content, so that's important. The disposable blu is nice, and the size isn't bad, almost like a pen sitting on my desk. I'm sure I'll be back later, got to get back to work!

Welcome There isn't a way to reuse that one that I know of....The best thing to do is get a kit that is what I was told. Saves you money and right now look on the forums here for a room that has a CHristams special running in it also for specials sales on kits =) You might find something in there also and alot of nice people here love helping. Trust me I need alot of it. I am new also been about a month for me and I am doing great on my 2nd kit now and its on its way....If you like I will show you the 2 I got not to fill your page now but they will show you many that are alot nicer also depends on what you like to spend also ..... :vapor:

I made the mistake of getting a Blu kit. My advice is a big bold solid STAY AWAY FROM BLU. You say you smoked 2 PAD. You will find the Blu will be spending more time in the charger than in your hand/mouth.

If you want a killer battery life and don't mind a bit of a thicker unit try out one of the eGo (there are a kind names kGo and such they are all basically the same model). You should be able to pick one up for $20 cheaper than the Blu. I used to smoke about 1.5 PAD, and I vape heavy. The battery lasts me just about all day, would easily last though the work day and stopping off of at happy hour after work.

The eGo has a 510 thread system (think of the thread system like a wheel on a car, if the lugs and size match you can use any rim). So if you run out of juice, an emergency situation you can run to a Sheetz or other store that sells the Blu cartridges and use them.

Don't just listen to me. When I was moving on up from a gas station ecig I listened to a few folks who seemed like what they said would be right for me. Got me from 100 choices down to a few that I could research for myself and see which one I liked best. Everyone has as slightly different style and taste in what they want out of vaping. It's a good thing that folks have the differing opinions cause it lets you see the pros and cons of each choice.

Another good bit of advice is that before you buy check out the positive and negative review forums. There are some good suppliers that have a negative review. People make mistakes and one or two negative posts are to be expected. When you see a vendor with a boat load of bad reviews you know to watch out for that vendor/model of hardware.
