With Idjoel’s blessing I will see what I can do about adding the tutorial to the calculator.
If I am posting on a public forum I consider it public domain. Please feel free to do as you please. Copy, chop, edit, reword, condense, or throw away! ;) Whatever offers the most help to the users of this terrific software. I am just tickled anyone finds some value in it.

Though it wasn't necessary, I appreciate you extending the courtesy of asking, thank you! :D

Great write-up @IDJoel !
If you don't write for a living you've missed your calling.
Seriously you should consider writing a book.

Mixing is less about accuracy, and more about consistent repeat-ability.
And "that" is why you will never see me write for publication. What took me paragraphs to say; you said beautifully in one single sentence.
I often feel like my only real contribution to this community is that my ramblings are probably saving readers hundreds of dollars by no longer needing to but sleep aids. :D:lol::lol::lol:

I noticed a post by @Hoggy that I can't find to reply to. The post referenced remembering window sizes and placement. The calculator should be remembering that last size and placement of a window and restoring it the next time it is opened. Is that not happening?

It works for one version but when there is an update, then EVERYthing resets itself to default... sizes, positions, and sort orders & column repositions (like for the ingredient editor). It would be nice if they all carried over with each upgrade.

Of course I could see one of those resetting if, for instance, there was a column added or something - as was talked about recently.

Hey everyone! I haven't been mixing for very long and I started with ELR and I'm wondering if I can export my flavors that are stored in that program and import then into this one¿ I rely want to check it out, I've heard tons of good stuff about it!

Yes you can but it is a bit cumbersome. There is an option on ELR to "Copy simple text" which places the recipe into your Windows clipboard. You then go into the JuiceCalculator and select "Import from text file->Import pasted text". Paste what is in your clipboard from ELR and click the Import button.

I am familiar with "that" site in general but I have never used the actual calculator. Does it offer a means to export your stash? Can you create a file to use in a spreadsheet like Excel or OpenOffice?

I've never used the calc part of ELR, either - even though I used it for the info even before finding this calc. Here, it's always so slow to load/use and can hang Firefox/Cyberfox for many moments on each page (a royal PITA). I did use it to populate THIS calc's notes and weights from it though - and while at it, would often click 'add to stash' for help when I might want to search out new recipes.

It looks like the flavor list can't be exported. Though Hotrod just posted about the actual recipes while typing this... And it occurred to me that a new mixer might refer to their 'recipes' as their 'flavors'. :)

Well now that I think about it if defiantly want my recipes be able to be imported as well, I was talking about my flavor stash tho, I'm coming up on two hundred flavors so I'm pretty "invested" in my current calc. I do really want to use this one tho!

I have a question for those that use a Dymo 450 printer for making labels. The calculator provides for a 30330 paper type to be used. So I ordered this printer with those address labels (Dymo 30330) and notice that the label when pealed is two pieces. What manufacture and label number do you you guys use with this printer? If you use what I have you must carefully stick to bottle? The current orientation prints the juice name above the little part and the split is where the pg/vg line is. Suggestions please. TY in advance.

Yes, I use the Dymo 450 with the 30330 labels. Here are some screenshots:

Used the top index and moved it down, have no idea why my settings are different. For that matter why the label is split, lol. Thanks

That is strange. My 450 will not allow me to print above the split, in the calculator or directly from Windows. I am guessing that you haven't told the printer what type of labels you are using in the printer preferences.
In Windows, right click your DYMO 450 printer and select "Printing Preferences". On the layout tab clicked the "Advanced" button. You should have a dropdown for the Paper Size. Make sure "30330 Return Address" is selected.

That's pretty slick! I just bought one of those printers, but I didn't even know I could print labels like that, awesome!

The only downside is the printer only prints in black and white.
