Another idea (sorry, I work at a software development company). How about a checkbox on the ingredient form to make it inactive. This keeps it from showing in any of the list if it's no longer used.

I need to check but I believe that is the threshold is set to zero that no alarm will be generated.

I'm sorry. Should have been more clear. Let's say I have Vanilla Bourbon as an ingredient. It shows up in my recipe dropdown when I create an ingredient and shows up in my inventory lists.

But now I do not use it anymore so I don't want it to "clutter" up my list when I create recipes or work on my inventory.

Maybe have a checkbox on the ingredient form that will allow you to make it inactive from any of the lists, recipe dropdown or inventory.

I tried it with 0 ml in inventory and 0 threshold but it still shows up.

Not a necessity but would be a feature.

Can't you just delete the ingredient?

In my happy place
I just started using your app and think that it is very well done. I did not look at this entire thread since it is so large, although I did try to search for an answer to my question / request.

I would like to generate a reorder sheet of flavors that I run out of so the next time I place an order I can just print the list and order from it. I could not find this feature so if I missed it I apologize if not I would like to request this feature.

Hey Painter. That's similar to the request I just asked for that he added very quickly. Go to View then Current Inventory. You can sort it by Remaining and then print. HUGE asset.

Hey HotRod,

I've also got a resolution related feature request

I'm running 1920 x 1200 and at this resolution, the overall fonts in the program are small but manageable, and I'm OK with that.

What I'd like to do is have a way for the Notes section to grow (even if only vertically) as I make the program window larger, or even go to maximized.

and now I just remembered another one related to Notes :)

Would you be able to make it so that the Notes that I have entered in the New Recipe Template in the Recipe Defaults section get copied over to the new recipe?

Thanks again for an awesome program

I just made a new version available, V4.0.1.3. It contains both of the changes:
1. The notes area will widen when the main recipe window is made wider.
2. The note from the recipe template will be added to a new recipe when created.

Were you aware that you can "detach" the notes from the main window? Click on the "D" button which is next to the notes and the notes will launch in a separate window. You can also press the "Ctrl-D" key while in the notes window and it will detach.

I am still pondering on how to tackle the other suggestion to have the ability to "hide" ingredients from showing in the ingredient dropdown lists.

Has anyone tried to run HotRod's excellent program on a Mac (OS 10) using a Windows emulator like the one from CodeWeavers?
I have seen comments from others (in this thread) that they are running it using an emulator. Since I am not a Mac user I don't remember what emulator they said that they are using but they did say that they had no problems running it with the emulator.

I've never tried an emulator like CodeWeavers (don't have one), but I run HotRod's program on my iMac on a virtual Windows machine with VirtualBox which is free. One caveat - you do have to install a full copy of Windows.

Yep, this thing keeps getting better and better.
Nice changes.

Now to get a truly portable version, or just a zip file? So some of us don't have to go through the steps
of installing, copy over and uninstall. That would be great.

Next step,, Windows Universal App :vapor:

On the note of VirtualBox, you could try it in Download | ReactOS Project

Once Downloaded and installed and setup
Go to the ReactOS Application Manager and you can d/l Firefox or other browser
It is slightly Linux-esque in ways, but is not Linux.

Do not try Qemu, that thing is slow as heck

Just place the extracted files in a Folder under the .VirtualBox\Machines\ReactOS
Then in Vbox, go to Machine / Add and find the ReactOS.vbox file and double click it
Done.
Install a Browser using the ReactOS Application Manager
and that should get you where you need to be. And it's all Free.

It has been in beta for about 15 years. They are trying to get community backing to continue developing it. They had to put a hold on it for a long time do to some devs taking short cuts, reverse engineering MS code. I doubt it will ever come to full fruition though. it's not a fully stable build and it will crash. But it works at times.

HotRod,

I finally got a chance (2 months later- I am a busy gal LOL) to set up my ingredients again- and save it this time- and make some juice with the calculator last night. It is an amazing program!

One thing I am wondering about- I used up all my VG last night and reduced my inventory to 0. If I go into a recipe I do not see a warning that I can't make the recipe though. Is this normal?

I just downloaded the new version. I see that you can now view or print your inventory. If that was there before I couldn't find it. Nice addition!

A suggestion for future updates- ever had a flavor that you don't use often and wondered just how long has that bottle been sitting in my box??? It would be nice to have a box on the ingredients to add the purchase date.

You rock! Love this program!!! Uninstalling ejuiceme up LOL.

You should have received a warning if:
1. You set the "Inventory alarm threshold" for the ingredient to a value other than 0 (0 is no threshold) and
2. In "Tools->Options" You check the "Display inventory messages" checkbox on the "Ingredient Defaults" tab.

I have added a "purchase date" box to the ingredient window. It will be available in the next version that I post (working on a couple of other updates).
