I'm not looking for a valuta calculator here, i just want to be able to change the $ to my local currency in the program. As in "31.75NOK" instead of "$31.75". Or even just an option to hide the $ would suffice.

A few months back I started a thread about a new calculator that was available. Since that post I have received a lot of good input and have made several updates and added new features. I encourage you to download and try out the latest version. All feedback is welcome.

Hi HotRod19579
Many thanks for your awesome calculator.
I installed it about a month ago & it has updated since.

I wish I'd had it from Day One of vaping, when I started DIY
The inventory feature is awesome.

Perhaps I'm stupid-
I want to put every ingredient I have into the inventory,
& it seems to only let me do that if I have a recipe open.
Help!

I'd like to put in the few premixes I have as ingredients-
with their nic contents, as I like to tweak them, for myself & friends,
whose nic strengths vary from mine.
And also the variations on having
eg 50 mg/ml ready to go in various PG/VG ratios

Because I don't seem to be able to do that-
I go back to using a good online calculator & c&p the recipes as a txt to zoom to my phone (recipe book while actually mixing)

Am I missing something or is this an update you'd consider for the future?

All recipes and ingredients are all saved into the same file, so it does not make a difference if you have a recipe open or not. Just be sure you click save in the main window.

You can certainly add a premix as an ingredient. In the calculator, open the Ingredients dialog. When you add your ingredient, you can choose the nicotine, PG, and VG levels for it:

Version 7.0.0.0 is available for download. If you installed the beta version you should replace with this version. Changes include:

1. When copying a recipe and creating a new recipe the "Category" value was not being copied to the new recipe. Fixed.

2. Renamed the "Category" label on the ingredient window to "Folder".

3. Added a new option in "Tools->Options", Recipe defaults tab. The new option is "Reduce inventory when printed. If this is checked, the inventory will be reduced for each ingredient in the recipe when a recipe is printed.

4. The shopping list window will be restored to its previous size when opened.

5. When ingredients are removed from the shopping list you will be prompted to see if you want to increase the inventory by the quantity value. Note that this will only occur for ingredients added to the shopping list after installing this version of the calculator.

6. Added the ability to encrypt your juice files and assign a password to the file. During the "File->Save as" you can select a "Save as type" of encrypted XML.

7. Added the ability to remove vendors. On the main recipe window select "Edit->Edit vendors" or from the shopping list window click the "Edit vendors" button.

8. Added support for regional currency settings. When money amounts are displayed they will be displayed in the format specified by your current regional settings.

Thanks- I think I was just very confused.
I've now made the mistake of making a recipe of a 50 mg/ml 50/50 dilution & am struggling to add it as a nic ingredient.... I'll work something out.

This could be good.
I've been converting $USD purchases to local currency so I had a clue.
(I love giving noobs the numbers lol)

If it is just a nicotine dilution, use the same Ingredients window, but select the type to "Nicotine" instead of flavoring. Put in the nic level and VG/PG percentages then save it. You will then see it as an option in the Nicotine selection of a recipe.

Wow that was quick. Anyhow, my region in win10 seems to not do much about the currency?
Or did i misunderstand?

Also on a sidenote: how does the last made date thingie work? I see an option to update it when you print recipes. Can you make it update on inventory -> reduce inventory amounts? Until now i have just written dates under notes on most recipes.

Again, thanks for all the work done hotrod :)

Edit: seems it was another region setting, all sorted now.

What I found is its easier to print to PDF for batch tracking hence suggested a reduce inventory on print and got it in the new version :) Ideally there should have another whole numbering and dating system for batch tracking but printing to PDF suffice for now. Thanks @HotRod19579 for the wonderful application!

I am new to DIY, and having read this thread decided to d/l. This thing will does everything except mix the ingredients, (still think that Rod could pull that off too.) I am such a noob at this , that I dont have any vendor sources. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Rod what a fantastic job. You have created a production grade tool. Thank you.

Good luck with the calculator.
I prefer tobacco flavors and use Hangsen and Inawera which I purchase from Bull City. I buy my nicotine, VG and PG from Wizard Labs. I started mixing by volume and switched to mixing by weight about 3 years ago and wish I would have started 5 years ago, probably would have saved a lot of money.

I second what HotRod said.

Wizard Labs PG, VG, and nicotine are high quality. I know it is expensive when you first get started. My Freedom Smokes (also called MFS) has decent nicotine. Theirs has a bit more of a 'peppery' taste to it which gives a bit more throat hit, but doesn't tend to have the off taste some places nic has. They have a more limited selection of ingredients than Bull City and their ingredients are more expensive. It doesn't always pay to shop in one place to save shipping. You get more at Bull City for a lesser price so you will almost break even vs. shopping in one place.

There are other places for ingredients, but those will get you started.
