Unfortunately printing to PDF does not affect the "Last Made On" date or reduce the inventory for me? The options are checked. I am running the app in a Parallels VM on a Mac if that matters?
I found the issue and this has been resolved. It will be available in the next version. The "Last made on" was not being updated properly. The inventory is being adjusted however the inventory values displayed on the main recipe window were not updating to reflect the change. If you display the ingredient in the ingredient window you will see the updates. Both issues are resolved in the next version.

So, I'll have to try to remember which recipes and how many times I tried this with and correct my inventory as I printed more times than I actually made. Bummer...

Your inventory was updated. The display, at the time you printed, wasn't updated to show you the new value. If you redisplay the recipe or go into the ingredient window you will see the updates. Again, I have resolved the display issue in the next version.

While looking through my recipes I thought something was off (a recipe I know I last made as 30ml was showing as 15ml being last made) so I tried to load a backup file and was presented with the following error: "Error loading XML Document:There is an error in XML document (2, 2)."

When attempting to open the backup file in Excel I am informed that the file type and extension don't match and I'm asked if I want to open it as text. Doing so the first time, Excel crashed. The second attempt the file opened.

First off, let me say that this calculator is absolutely fantastic. I am having one small problem with it, though.

I used the "create flavor base from recipe" option and created a flavor base recipe as well as a new ingredient. When I mix some of the flavor base, I use the flavor base recipe and the inventory adjustment option and it removes all the "raw materials" from my inventory. Is it possible to have this option add the amount to the flavor base ingredient inventory or do I have to do this manually?

I hope I explained that well enough. Thanks for any input.

You will then see it as an option in the Nicotine selection of a recipe.

I did that, but the calculator overrides it-
Then saving!
I don't have Office on my puter- Open Office.
The calculator won't export unless I have Excell installed.

I want to love this calculator, but I keep having to use something else to get the numbers.
The recipe I tried was just a test.
2 drops of FA Black Fire
Target nic 24 mg/ml
Using 50mg/ml 25/25 dilution as an ingredient
and I wanted to add a 50/50 PG/VG I keep ready-
juice calculator forces me to make it either 100% PG or 100% VG when I try to save it.
Do I save it as a flavour?
Will the calculator then assume it's 100% PG?

Apologies for the whining, but I am so frustrated.

The recipe is just a stock standard way of trying a new flavour,
or having ready something I use in multiple recipes in tiny quantities.

None of my recipes are complex, since I vape pretty straight tobaccos.
In fact, I could prolly not bother, just tweak on the fly.

After creating the flavor base and the recipe to create the flavor base there is not currently a direct connection between the two (within the calculator) which is why the inventory of the flavor base ingredient is not updated when the inventory for the recipe is adjusted.
I don't remember why I didn't link the two items up so that mixing the base recipe would automatically update the base ingredient. It might have been an oversight on my part. Let me look into it and see if I can link them up.

In order to export a recipe or ingredients to Excel you must either have Excel installed on your computer or have one of the open office programs that will open .XLSX files.
There is another way to get a copy of your ingredients and paste them into another application. You can use the "Edit->Ingredient editor" which will display all of your ingredients in a grid format. From this window you can select cells, rows, columns or the entire grid and copy/paste them into another application.

I am not sure I understand the specifics of what you are trying to do but maybe this explanation will help.

When adding flavor ingredients or nicotine ingredients you can specify the PG/VG percentage to be any values (less than 100%). PG + VG does not have to add up to 100%.
When defining PG or VG ingredients the ingredient must be 100% PG or VG.
If your flavor ingredient has nicotine content you can also specify the nicotine level of the ingredient and this will be considered when the recipe is produced. The nicotine level of the ingredient will contribute to the total nicotine of the recipe.

When building a recipe the PG/VG values associated with the recipe are dependent on an option in "Tools->Options", the General tab, "Volume Calculation". When unchecked sum of the PG/VG percentage of a recipe will always be 100%. When it is checked you can specify PG/VG percentages that do not total 100%.

Can you PM me a copy of the recipe that is giving you problems? If I can see the problem that you are having I may be able to help.

Thanks for the reply. I wasn't sure if this was the case or if I was missing something simple. I'll just continue to update the ingredient manually for now, but this functionality would be awesome.

Hotrod, when you get a chance would you have a look at Modifying an existing recipe, and the coordinated movement between Amount of Mix and Target Amount. I discovered what appears to be an issue when I wanted to modify an existing recipe and end with a mix that would fit a certain size bottle. I can get it to work if I play long enough, but it just doesn't seem to work properly. Thanks.

omg! Isn't there a simple Save As option?
It refuses to export xlsx -" Excell not installed"
I have OO installed, & Excell on my phone (what I use when actually mixing)

When defining PG or VG ingredients the ingredient must be 100% PG or VG.

I have a few PG/VG ratios ready-mixed.
Perhaps put them in as nicotine, with a zero nic content.

Can you PM me a copy of the recipe that is giving you problems?

Thanks- I will.

When you choose Tools > Export to Excel
Do you see "Using Open XML" ? That is what I use for OO.

I think I am doing something wrong. When I set the threshold amount to 10, the program uses the inventory and subtracts 10 to set the alarm. I.E. inventory amount of 120 ml, threshold amount of 10, alarms at 110 ml. Am i misunderstanding this function? Alarm value only appears in the View>Current Inventory>Screen and is not editable.

Dear Hotrod,
When I choose creat flavor base from recipe, the results of the flavor mix when added is not 100%, a 26.41% of PG must be added (total flavor in original recipe is 18.5%),
As I understand it, it should be 100% flavoring, am I doing something wrong!!!

Edit;
This issue only on v7, tried it on v6.0.3.7 works good.

Great program HotRod19579 very much appreciated. Just finished reading entire thread and was unable to find an answer to my problem. What I am attempting to do is relabel my bottles using the print label function The problem is that some of my Recipe names are a little long and get cut off when I have them at a font size that my tired old eyes can read. So is there any way to get the program to automatically carry over the excess letters and words from line 1 to line 2 with the same Font. Using Ver 7.0 and avery 5160 template. Once again thank you very much.

Hey guys...panic attack here! I went to open the calculator today.....and I can't. Sort of. I can double click on the icon, and the thumbnail will show at the bottom of the computer, and when I mouse over the thumbnail I can see a small image of the calcuator, but clicking on it to open it does nothing. Thoughts? My most prized recipes are in there and this is my all-time favorite calculator!

With the shopping list function is there a way to add quantities of ingredients i dont have enough off for the current recipe? For example if i want to make 500ml of a few recipes, i only want to order the flavors i dont have enough of. Also if i have say 10ml of a flavor, but i need 30ml i only want 20ml i need added to the shopping list by default.
