Hey HotRod,
It's me again with one of my silly question, is there is a way to add a template for the label as I'm using (formtec 1065),
Also, have you been able to recreate the issue I've (quoted below).
I can add additional templates if I know the dimensions of the sheet. For some reason label manufacturers don't publish this information so that developers can write code to print to their labels, strange. I have searched for the Formtec 1065 and the only thing I can find is that the labels are 38mm X 21.2mm and this is not enough information to generate a label. What is needed is label width, height, left margin before 1st label, top margin, column spacing between labels and row spacing between labels.
If you can help me find that information I will add the template. Note that you can go into "File->Print Label", click the "Manage types" button and create a custom template by providing the dimensions I referenced. It will probably mean using a ruler and measuring your labels and then doing some trial-and-error testing with it.

I am going to PM you with some questions related to creating your flavor base. I need some more information to understand what may be going on.

The issue with that is, firstly I don't think most users know the quantity they are going to want prior to going to different vendors to see where they are going to get the best deal at the time (for the various sized products) and secondly they won't know what the price is going to be until, once again they are at the site and see what the product is selling for, at which time there isn't a need to start adding in those figures into the calculator... your already on the vendors site doing it.
If on the other hand the Quantity area allowed for the entering in of the volume that was being purchased and the cost area allowed for the price that is getting purchased for that item was used, I would think it would be able to be functional... of course maybe it is functional already but it seems as if your doubling what your already doing... placing a 1 in the Quantity and the cost of that 1 is pushed over to the total.
Something that might take a bit of work but would be nice is:
The drop down in the shopping list would allow for the different vendors prices to be shown in the fields. i.e. if I had placed a number of items on the shopping list and now wanted to do comparison pricing, I would use the drop down for say Bullcity next to the item (lets say CAP Sweet Strawberry)... in the quantity area I would put in 30ml and in the cost area (after going to their site and looking at it put in 5.30 (the cost for the 30ml of product) I would do that for each of the items I was planning on purchasing. Then I would go to another vendor like One Stop and again start going down my proposed list with One Stop selected in the dropdown... and be able to insert their pricing in the areas, then be able to toggle back and forth between the two to see which had a better deal for me.
A different use for the area may be that items placed on the list area populated in the quantity and price from what had been added from the last purchase (or most likely from what the user has used in the ingredient section of the calculator where you go in and place the price and amount to add into your inventory on the ingredient listing screen. So if you normally (or had previously) purchase that Sweet Strawberry from Bullcity at such and such price that area in the shopping list is already populated with that info.
I have to agree with Penguiness on this one, trying to track vendors, quantities that vendors sell, prices and different flavors and manufacturers that a vendor sells could turn into a major application. There are already users that don't use this calculator because it can overwhelm a new user with all of the features that are packed into it. I would fear that adding this level of functionality (which would be good) would scare more users away from using it.
What the calculator currently does when adding an ingredient to the shopping list is to use the last known quantity and cost of the ingredient and add those values to the shopping list. This information is gathered from the "Cost" area of the ingredients definition.

Version 7.0.0.1 is available with some minor changes and fixes:

1. The "Last made on" date was not being updated when the recipe was printed.

2. When the recipe was printed and the inventory updated, the new inventory amounts were not being displayed on the window.

3. Internal fix, under rare circumstances the calculator would launch but the window would not be visible.

4. Provided an option to print the "Last made on" date when printing a label.

I have been using V7 for about a month. I is fantastic. I appreciate all the flexibility. I would love to see a companion program that would build a database of finished juice by quantity and add the decanting costs. I.E. bottle and lable. Rather than ml to create, it would be bottles to create. Very simular to the build flavor base option. All of the dates could crossover. Comments?

Downloaded this calculator last night mainly because I liked the sound of an ingredient list and the price calculator. I sat down this afternoon to input my flavors (or at least that's what I believed I was doing) but when I close and reopen the app, current inventory list only shows PGEntry and VGEntry! :( what did I miss?...

Haha yes, yes I did. When I input them through a recipe, they saved. So maybe it was just a one time error or something...
Had the same experience as a newbie user. Saving in the inventory screen alone does not suffice, you also need to save on the main application screen. Always save there before exiting. Maybe HR can consider fixing this "bug" if I may call it that.

So I havent read much here yet, I can tell this is a pretty advanced calculator. Im not an idiot or anything, but is this fairly noob friendly or should I use something else until I am more knowledgeable? Im just starting DIY.

Just start with the basics, and you can expand on more features as you become comfortable. Not everyone uses all the features, just what they need :)

Don't hesitate to ask questions. Your questions will help someone else later.

This! It is easy to add in recipes and flavors. The shopping list was very helpful to track flavors I wanted to get too. Over time, I came to appreciate other features and still don't use everything (I need a label printer). It's nice that it grows with me, doing everything I want and more. Plus, HotRod's attention to adding new functionality and support (like when I did a d'oh!) is the best. I used other calculators initially and highly recommend this one.

Made my very first bottle of juice! Made a huge mess, used totally inaccurate measurements, it needs to steep, and y only tank is full other other juice, so might be awhile before I can properly try it.

All in all, it was pretty easy and fun, and once my proper tools are in, it should go a lot smoother :D

*Edit*
Oh, and on topic - used the calculator, and I love it. It is pretty easy and gets pretty advanced (when Im ready to go down that rabbit hole).
