Enjoy this great vape

there are 2 recipes in the file
1.) RY4
2.) TA Diluted and where to get it

Also love how this export grabs the ingredients of the recipes only.
This Calc gets better and better.

I just made version 4.0.1.4 available.

Changes include:
  1. Added a "purchase date" field on the ingredient window.
  2. Fixed a bug in the modify recipe window. An exception was being thrown when the desired PG/VG level could not be reached.
  3. Added a "deactivate" checkbox on the ingredient definition window. When checked the ingredient will not show in the ingredient dropdown lists on the recipe window. If a recipe includes a deactivated ingredient the ingredient will show in the dropdown list.
  4. Added a button on the main recipe window called "Flavor %". When clicked a window will open that allows you to specify your ingredient precentages based on their percentage of the total flavor percentage. The sum of the percentages of each flavor ingredient must total 100%. For example you are adding two flavor ingredients, one might be 25% and the other might be 75% and then you specify a total percentage value specifying how much of the total flavor ingredients you want added to the recipe.
  5. When a URL is clicked in the notes field the URL will be launched in the browser.
  6. Made changes to allow a portable version of the application to be created.
On the main recipe window select "File->Portable installation->Create/Update portable folder" and when prompted, select or create the folder that you want the JuiceCalculator installation installed to. For instance, create a folder called "C:\Portable".
All of the needed executable files will be copied into this directory and all of the files where options are stored will be copied into "C:\Portable\Data".
You can now run the JuiceCalculator from this folder by double clicking the "C:\Portable\JuiceCalculator.exe" file.
You could also create the portable folder on a networked drive and have access to the JuiceCalculator from other PC's. You could also choose to ZIP this folder and move it around with you from one PC to another PC. Another option is to place the installation on a USB stick.
NOTE: With the exception of your juice data file (ingredients and recipes), all of your settings are stored in the portable directory.
You continue to have control where your juice data file is stored (thru the File->Open and File->Save As) options. You may want to consider storing your juice data file in the same portable directory so that it will also move around with you.
I highly recommend that you read the help file (Help->Display help), section "Misc Actions", "Portable installations".
  7. Along with the create portable version option is a "File->Restore settings from portable folder" option. This option will restore all of your settings from your portable directory into the settings being used by the current running instance of the calculator.
I highly recommand that you read the help file (Help->Display help), section "Misc Actions", "Portable installations".

Hotrod,

Me again :(

I was wondering if there is a way to bulk edit Ingredients, as I have not been able to find one.

The reason I ask is that I have the following challenge ahead of me and I've been putting it off:

1. Edit drops per ML for about 100 TFA Flavors
2. Create about 70 FA Flavors
3. Just added - Deactivate Ingredients from all the Imported recipes :)

So I was thinking an export/import to Excel or CSV for Ingredients would be a really cool feature. One could then modify the Ingredient list in Excel, save as CSV if needed, and then import it back in. I guess there would probably be an IngredientID column that one would not modify, and ingredients, without an ID would be imported/created as new ingredients.

Does this sound logical? What do you think about this feature?

Thanks again

Really great program... Just love it

A couple of thought that I had. If these are already in the program, forgive me...

My work flow is to typically make a copy of any recipe that I want to make changes to. Unfortunately, there isn't anything that will remind me to do this and I've inadvertently made changes to an established recipe. also, it's difficult to tell if I've made changes to a recipe.

so my suggestions would be:

1) something to let me know that a recipe has had a change made to it.
2) a checkbox to let me 'lock' the recipe
3) prompt to remind me to copy a recipe if I try to change it or continue changing the one I'm on.
4) a reminder to save everything when I switch to another recipe

I second the export ingredient suggestion above. What I have been doing is editing the raw xml file but I hate doing that because they are just unwieldy and difficult to work with, IMHO.

When using a Nic base and choosing it as an ingredient, everything works properly, but I always get the following warning messages:

Unable to add enough nicotine for desired level
Unable to add enough VG for desired level
Cost/ml was not provided for all ingredients

Also, the VG & PG lines are still shown which is fine, because they show all 0's, but it'd be nice if they just went away altogether when using a premixed base.

Again, thanks for all the hard work on this very helpful tool...

If I may ask, what is the amount of nicotine in the base, VG/PG ratio of it, and target nic and VG/PG ratio?

I've never tried an emulator like CodeWeavers (don't have one), but I run HotRod's program on my iMac on a virtual Windows machine with VirtualBox which is free. One caveat - you do have to install a full copy of Windows.

Off to give it a try! Thanks and thanks to HotRod...

Another Suggestion
Not a big one, but helps..
Determine NIC level
Can you add the calculation for total Volume as well as Ratio of PG/VG?
NIC Combine in eJuiceMeUP is pretty perfect the way it is set up.
I hate to say steal an idea, but this would combine (from what I see) 6 calcs at least
In that, you can set a NIC level of 0 and measure out just PG/VG
or you can adjust NIC Levels
Plus it will give you all the info at the bottom.
Total Volume, NIC Level after combining and PG/VG Ratios all in one location.
It is a much more uniform way of calculating these ratios without having to switch calcs.

Downloaded this last night and gave it a run through this evening - loving it - has everything I have always longed for and desired in a juice calculator - few little irks that I may or may not mention in time - depends on whether I can just live with them or if they really grate my goat! LOL

but all in all - an excellent effort! - I shall donate in due course! well done!

I'm new to this software but I find it difficult to use. I have added my amounts of PG base 52 mg and PG base 0 mg and VG base 52 mg and VG base 0 mg and a bottle of VG 18 mg and 2 aromas which is based on PG to my inventory as ingredients. But I can't add the bases to my recipes to mix them to my preferred strength/ PG/VG ratio. I can't delete the PG an VG default ingredients either. What am I doing wrong here ? Do I have to use pure nicotine and PG/VG without nicotine ? I used Ejuicemeup and it was easier.. I'd really like to use this software because of the inventory feature.. I've been using computers for 30 years and I'm not stupid :) Please advise.

Click the "Ingredients" button on the main window. Enter your base as a nicotine ingredient (Ingredient type) specifying the nicotine level, PG and VG levels. Click the "Save" button.
Also add your flavor ingredients as a flavor ingredient type.

Then on the main window specify the levels that you want your recipe to be and add the ingredients that you want to include in your recipe. This would be your base nicotine ingredient and your flavor ingredient(s).

It will then display the amounts of each ingredient to add to include any additional PG or VG that is needed to reach your desired levels.

You can't delete the PG or the VG lines because that is where you specify the PG/VG ration that you want your recipe to be.
