Is there a list of recipes in the program? If so I can't find them or I'm ......ed

He used to include some recipe files that came from a couple other calculators out there. He gave proper credit to the source, but they got upset about it. So he was forced to pull them down.

Of course, you can use the import function to pull those same recipes out of the other calculators that support. Take a small exploration trip in the menu system.

I'm going to be roundly chastised because I can't think of any way to ask my question without appearing ungrateful. Please understand that I'm not ungrateful...

HotRod - while I am an old duffer I am still pretty facile with technology. I *know* you could make some money if you could come up with an IOS version of your calculator. I would love to use my iPad for calculating and record keeping in my DIY hobby. There is an app for calculating available but it's pathetic compared to yours.

Thanks for all your hard work. I am grateful.

Tim

(Just an idea for you...)

yeah ^what he said^. MAC OS please!

Just a FYI.... I am having trouble with the google drive link... it is giving the ol HTTP 404 Not Found page... so not sure if me or a broken link?
A few months back the Google URL started having issues and a new URL was created. Both the google and the DropBox links are included in post number 786.

I've just discovered a small bug in the label printing functions.

First, the standard 'print label' function works in the program, but it doesn't send any data to the printer. Sheet comes through blank.

The 'advanced' label maker, which I'm using, works like a dream!..except it prints the labels quite a bit too low on paper. There is about 4-5 times more blank space above the printed section than below. Keep in mind, the preview window shows the text/picture centered.
Thankfully, HotRod built in an editor for every single template contained in the program, so all I had to do was adjust the top margin of my template to a lower value.

For anyone using Avery 5160, or any of the other identical templates, put the top margin to 0.39 inches to center your labels up nicely.

There's some unpaid labor for you Rob! And half a sheet down for testing :p
Something easy to throw into the next update, at least for the 5160 (and identical) templates.

Nothing against it, but ejuicemeup compared to this is like a Nokia to an Android.
And it just keeps getting better!! Can't thank you enough.

PS- To those have spyware/virus issues, I can 99% guarantee you its not from this program. Whatever you got was dormant in your system before this, or just really unlikely timing from something else you were doing. When only 2 out of the (hundreds?) who use this program have virus issues, and we all download from the same source- its not the program, its you.
I will look into the Print Label function to see why it is not printing.

I have found that the margin's are somewhat dependent on the printer being used. I have two printers and when testing the label printing app the margins had to be different for my two printers. That was the reason I included the ability to adjust the margins.

Would it be tough to compensate for the higher specific gravity of VG for those of us who weigh our juices?

And this is great by the way, awesome job.

The ingredient editor has a place for the density of each ingredient. The default Pg and VG ingredients should have the correct density already entered.

Awesome, it just shows vg on the display as 1ml = 1g when 1ml should show as 1.24g? Perhaps I am confused.

Yeah, that's not right. You can change that value from the ingredient editor. Don't have the software handy, but I think its the manage ingredients button. When the window opens, scroll through the ingredient list and locate the VG listing. Click on that, then find the density value. You can change it to 1.24.

In the later versions you click the ingredients button on the toolbar. You can then select each ingredient and specify the weight, grams per ml, for each ingredient.

If your going to use a digital scale make sure you learn about drift and the different things that can cause it like static, a light breeze, vibration, a low battery and the battery contacts. Check the battery's often, when replacing, clean them and the connections with rubbing alcohol, use gloves or clean tweezers to handle them when installing. Follow the manufactures steps when calibrating and use a check weight every now and then. If you bump the desk, table or bench the scale is setting on, even lightly, use the check weight to test the scale. It's best to set the scale on something other then the area where your working, one out of the way and free from kids, cats and drafts. Close the doors, windows and turn your fan or AC off. You know how you can get a static shock from walking on carpet in your socks..... if you can avoid it, DON'T use a digital scale in a carpeted room, just don't do it.

If you don't believe static or a slight breeze can throw your scale off, rub a balloon on your head and pass it near the scale and watch the reading, gently blow air past the scale and watch it.

Almost forgot, wipe down the area where the scale will be placed with a fabric softener sheet, the ones that you toss in the dryer (use a new one, not one used). You can also use anti-static spray, the stuff to prevent clinging on your clothes. The bottles, beakers or anything you put on or next to the scale that you can't use the spray or sheets, wash with dish soap and let air dry, the dish soap helps to prevent static.

Folks who use digital scales for reloading ammunition have learned to be aware of these things and be cautious of it, otherwise the results could be..... undesirable.

SlickWilly, really?...It's not as if we're handling radioactive isotopes, or some kind of chemical where 1 drop too many will cause an explosion. Your write-up seems..a little 'tin foil hat'-ish, and all those precautions are far from necessary. Heaven forbid the desk gets bumped and we add .01 grams too much of a flavoring without it being measured.
Mixing with a scale should be faster, and if you're doing all that, sounds like it would take hours just to mix a bottle- I figure, what, maybe 20 minutes to put on your biohazard suit, then into your chemical sterilization chamber, get a laser scan for microbes..plus 17 other things just to take a flavor to your scale and weigh it.

Anyway, real reason I'm posting here is to see if anything can be done about the annoying 'BING' sound every time the enter key is pressed in the main window. Say you're adding flavors to a new recipe, you punch in the percentage and hit enter to save it, it 'bings' at you every time. Maybe just an option to turn off sounds in the program?
I realize this could be an isolated issue with my computer..maybe some windows sound setting I'm overlooking. If you notice the same thing HotRod, I'd love an option to turn it off.
Thanks!

I have been testing the problem that you are having with the print label function (not sending to printer) and it is working for me. Can you let me know which paper type you have selected and the Row/Column you have selected when this occurs?
