The new feature works extremely well and the implementation is genius, if the total quantity "amount to make" is higher than 300ml, enabling the "specify amount option" throws an exception but that may have something to do with the max value of 100ml. When dealing with smaller quantities of flavor or nic this is absolutely perfect. For large quantities of VG or PG I can just get the target amount close and scroll from there. Thank you for your time

Version 4.0.3.1 is available. It increases the limit to 10,000,000 ML. If anyone needs a higher limit then... $$$ :p

This is a fantastic tool. I did want to ask (not having read all 905 previous posts) whether, when entering ingredients, there is any way to pull the date value forward? Not urgent, but when entering from invoices it would be nice not to have to enter the date purchased new in each ingredient. I'm a one fingered typist now, and I'm just remembering from my younger days of database entry how nice it was to replicate the contents of a field with a two key command.

Hi Rod,
In the drop down in the Merge Two Recipes sub the recipes with longer names don't show the complete name, so same named recipes with a v2, v3 etc...at the end are difficult to guess at sometimes. Any chance you can add minimize/maximize buttons to the merge two recipes sub please (or whatever needs to be done to accomplish this)?
TIA

Let me think on how to tackle this one.

I have made the change for this one and it will be available in the next version I make available. There are two changes to help support this one. I made the recipe name dropdowns a little wider and if you resize the window and make the window wider, the recipe dropdowns will be made wider.

Rod,

I've also noted that when adjusting the PG and VG levels, they only self equalize when adjusting the values up (with the Increase/Decrease buttons) and not down. Is this a feature that I didn't find a post about or ?

I use this calculator all the time and am very familiar with it's operation. I just tried to duplicate what you describe and couldn't.

Happens to me as well, I just assumed it had to do with the pg% in flavorings etc...and had to be manually adjusted.

Change this option: "Tools->Options" and look at the "General" tab, make sure that "Volume Calculation" is not checked.

For more information about this option see post number 830 in this thread.

Thanks for the awesome calculator HorRod, small donation sent.

This may have been brought up, couldn't find it. I think I nice edition to the program would be to warn in some fashion (red font color maybe) when the recipe calls for more of an ingredient than is in inventory. Right now I have 10 ml of watermelon available but the calculator gives me no indication that I'm 2 ml short.

Check an see if you have "Display inventory messages" checked in the "Tools->Options" Ingredient defaults tab.

If it is checked and you are not seeing the warnings, let me know so that I can investigate further.

That did the trick. Thought I might be missing something. Thanks

I would like to request a feature. Would be great to see in the inventory how many recipes uses a flavor. I can see the number when I go to delete a flavor or search for a recipe containing that flavor, but would like to see it in the inventory. If I have an ingredient that I use in a lot of recipes, I could adjust the alarm threshold to a higher number so I can order before I start a large mixing session.
