Hello HotRod...
I've downloaded/installed your latest version the 4.0.3.3. Thank you for the update and for your time to constantly work on improving your program.

I noticed what may be a cosmetic issue on the "about" tab. The popup panel's length dimensions seem a little short on my display so the OK button isn't completely revealed.

I'm still pretty new at this and as mentioned I used the ejuice calculator previously. Shortly afterwards and on recommendations from other DIY users I saw and downloaded your program. My initial reaction was... this is way more than what I need, for what I do. I don't have a chemistry background and sometimes I get a little confused with the mathematics and equations involved. But I'm having second thoughts because your program seems to have the capacity to handle a lot more things as one's knowledge increases. So I should quite with my negatively and put the due diligence in to learn it properly.

I have a question on installing the updates...
can we just install the updates over the existing program or version that already running in our system? That's sort of what I did for 4.0.3.3. I have software that requires one to first remove the original and then install the new stuff.

I think I'll spend some time reading through the individual sections in your help file. I'm still quite new with using it.
Would you send me the screen resolution that you are running at? I will try to duplicate this on my PC tonight but it will help if I know your resolutions.

Hello HotRod
I just remembered something I notice when looking at the File Maintenance module. This was after the import from ejuice.

I noticed a whole bunch of Nicotine versions i.e. Nicotine, Nicotine(1), Nicotine(2), Nicotine(3) etc... right up to Nicotine(21).

I like to avoid all these different nicotine versions...

I don't know why I'm doing the important other than I want to capture several existing recipes that I have renamed and altered to my taste preference. I don't think I need the whole file in it's entirety other than a curiosity for the existing flavours in eJuice. Maybe I should just import the several I created individually?

I think I read where you do include a default list of recipe starter kit... is this a mirror of the recipes in eJuice relatively speaking or something completely new?

I guess the question is to avoid all the nic versions just add the personal ones I've changed for my own liking to your starter list?
thank you
This should only happen when you are importing and the Nicotine level (mg/ml) or PG/VG percentages don't match an existing nicotine ingredient already in your system. Can you check to see if the levels are different between the various nicotine ingredients.

The start kit can be downloaded at the URL that you downloaded the program from. That file was provided by another user from recipes collected in the "EJuiceCalculator Recipe Trading Thread".

If you are seeing the "?" for help in the upper right corner of the window click "Tools->Show minimize/maximize buttons".

If you are running 3-5 instances of the calculator and working with the same juice file, be careful. If you make changes and save in one instance and then click the save button in another instance, you will loose the changes that you saved in the first instance.

hehe ya, no worries there!

Another suggestion-

Perhaps a "hey! you've already removed this recipe worth of ingredients from inventory-do you want to continue" type of thing. I find myself wondering if I've removed a recipe worth of ingredients from inventory if I happen to get a call or the like while in the lab...Lets face it, none of us are getting any younger here! They say the memory is the first to go lol

And Rod, if this makes no sense....shoot me a pm. I just re-read it....I sound as tired and delirious as I am :)

yes I saw the start kit in drop box and grabbed that. I've decided to use it and import few customs ones I had in the other program. If I find something interesting I'll again do a single import to clean things as clean as possible.
thank you

I have the fonts set to medium or 125%... I'm older and like the big monitor and larger fonts for eyesight thing.

Version 4.0.3.4 is available.

Changes include:
1. Merging two recipes - Every keystroke was causing the window to rebuild. Fixed.

2. Inventory - When the inventory button on the main window is clicked I will display a warning message if you already adjusted the inventory for the same recipe. This was done to help prevent a miss-click and adjusting the inventory twice.

3. Column heading alignment on the main recipe window and the merge recipe window - Column headings were not being properly aligned. This time I think I fixed the problem for good.

4. Cosmetic issues when running Windows with other than the default text size. Fixed several windows were buttons were not being properly shown or aligned.

Version 4.0.3.3 is available with two changes:
1. When importing recipes from other calculators that do not have weight values, the weight of the ingredients will be calculated based on their PG/VG percentage.
2. Added a button on the ingredient window to calculate the weight of the ingredient based on the ingredients PG/VG percentage.

IMHO, you should have defaulted it to 1 as ratchet62 mentioned.
And if the user want more accuracy or know the correct PG/VG percentage then he should use the button to calculate.

At the moment, for me at least, it imports as 1,036g.

Not a big deal, it's just 1 more field that I have to correct when importing recipes/ingredients (damn regional settings :) ).

Don't know if it's me only but, "Merge Recipes" is not saving the created recipe.
Actually it is saving but I am failing to put it in the Recipe dropdown list when you return to the main window. After clicking the "Save" button on the merge screen do a "Save" on the main recipe window, close the application and restart it and you will see your recipe.

I will make an update to add the new recipe to the dropdown list.

Sorry but I am reading ratchet62's answer to the question I posted a little different. When importing I know the percentage of PG and VG and if the flavor ingredient has the percentages for PG/VG set, I can calculate the weight. If the imported ingredient has 0% PG and 0% VG I will default it to 1 gram.

Ok HotRod and Ratchet, I guess I misinterpreted it.
I still don't know why some of my ingredients were imported as 1.036g.

Now I've been using this for a while and I have this doubt:
- How do I merge 3+ recipes? Does it matter or the final result will be the same if I merge 2 and then merge the result with another? Math isn't really my playground... :)

If someone is reading this and hasn't used it, just to clarify: This calculator is pure awesomeness!!!

Rod, did you notice in .7 that there are 4 shortcuts?

File Maintenance
Juice Calculator
_Built1_D2237CB6089841E69645299B2CF80BFB

and last but not least

NewShortcut2_E751BD9BEFF9458B9DDB80E7BBA1F37F
I don't see it. I just installed on two other PC's and I am only getting the expected icons. What version did you upgrade from and I will try it?
