I am a new DIYer and quickly found this calculator is better than anything else I had experimented with. I'm using it extensively, and within a few weeks my recipe list has already gotten big and difficult to navigate. I'm not sure if this has been covered before, but are there plans to add some kind of organizational tool for the recipes? Like folders or tags or something. Maybe I should investigate making a new juice file for some?

But thank you again for the great app!!!
You read my mind. I was just thinking about the folder idea a few days ago.

I checked the dropbox download option, the zipped set up file is 13.6KB, there are also some user guides and a portable setup option if you want them.
I think that expands to 23.1K (my app data directory size) and my juice file is about 3.7K.

The calculator is free.

There isn't an android version as far as I know and Apple doesn't allow vaping calculators in their store any longer.

I read early on that he didn't have a MAC so the cost to buy one and then the learning curve would be quite a task.

Doesn't the MAC OS let you run windows as a virtual machine (or something like that)? It's a great calculator.

There is software that will allow you to run Windows on OS X but most as far as I know wouldnt want to run Windows. Perhaps its Gamers that do? Not sure. I recently bought the 27" iMac Retina version which is an awesome machine. I also purchased a very good Windows laptop since i had a macbook pro as well, hoping to keep my fingers in Windows but I never used it. Sold it a few months later basically unused for a great price.

I tried but speaking as someone that used to enjoy all the tech aspects of Windows, who enjoyed building computers, etc, once i went to mac I just couldn't bring myself to go back but i have tried.

So thats the long answer but i assume that the short answer would most likely be that it would be a large install, and even perhaps considered unnecessary waste just for one app to run on it.

It's a shame that this one cant run on mac but there will be others that will make one similar in a short matter of time no doubt...

I can see how big the app is. How big is windows install required to run the app not to mention the expense of buying windows?

In fairness, those are rhetorical questions. It's insane to think I'd want to install a whole new operating system that I don't need for anything else and don't like for a million reasons (bugs, updates, security, crashes, drivers, lost data) to run a single app for a hobby. I expect my computers to last a decade. That's not going to happen with windows.

Who uses an app store? My computer hasn't been "supported" for a long time and even new, I rarely used the app store. Even the best programs for android aren't found in an app store (amazon is less restrictive than google).

Android is a nice middle ground. Tablets are android. Why not in android? I've tested a few that exist and they don't compare to this. A tablet would be perfect for DIY.

I've been waiting for 2 years.

I don't recall free being a criteria. A realistic trial might be but most of the android calculators currently aren't free.

On a thread about a free program I thought it would be but, if we're talking about recipe apps in general with limited functions that are designed for a phone such as android (don't think vaping apps are allowed on Iphone) then maybe apps exists for different platforms.

Agree but I've seen it done whereby afellow programmer/friend who has mac might be given the source and ones made in mac

That said IF there are enough Mac users that want one, thought could also be given to crowdfunding a mac air for the programmer if he/she so agreed.
Easier said than done perhaps as it really would depend on how many mac users there were wanting use of it...

I recently donated $25 to a program in another area I use. The guy did come out with a mac version and worekd very hard at it.
Im the first to use free programs, admittedly but I really needed this one and he was a small programmer.
He asked for donations. I think many gave $5 but it really was a brilliant app he made and i hadnt any qualms paying what i felt it was worth.

Does anyone actually use an iPhone without jailbreaking it? :p

OT but I walked away from iPhones a few years ago. i tend to consider them newbie phones....yes some mac users get mad at me for saying that but i find iPhone too restrictive. You have to jailbreak it even just to run a half decent block calls app. Doing so would allow an iPhone possible app to be used.

Its great to have for synching reasons if you use macs but IF you need your phone to do more than an iPhone can do, you either have to jailbreak it or go Android and I have been using a One Plus One Android phone for a year now and coudlnt ever think of an iPhone again.

But thats off the topic of the thread BUT....aikanine1 isn't wrong. I think that an android version might be even more popular than a OS X version.

Above and beyond all of that I think you will find a higher percentage of OS X users willing to pay for programs that they want than Window users but even for android on a mobile, they arent expensive but you guys know more than I do as to how many DIY'rs are out there that woudl require such an app.

AND the developer could make some money but i suspect no one will like me sayig that in case he decided to charge for Windows as well :vapor:

Anyhow, no more from me on the OS X issue, or Android. I doubt I am mentionning something that hasnt come up before...

I would imagine that since Apple does not allow vape related apps in the app store, the legal ramifications for HotRod to attempt to circumvent this needs to be considered.

Apple won't hesitate to pursue legal action.

Sorry Pen, have you searched iTunes recently for vape related apps? Try vape, eliquid, ejuice etc...hundreds of those little buggers in there!

They have removed 2 that I had, and several friends are seeing others being removed also.
