Absolutely love this calculator. As my list of recipes grows larger and larger, I wish that I could rate them on a scale of 1-10 instead of 1-5. Not sure if anyone has requested this before, but it would make it so much better for me if it was a 10 point rating scale.

Keep doing what you do. This thing is awesome.
I am glad you are liking it. The reason for the 1 to 5 scale vs. 1 to ten is the amount of space it takes to display the recipe name with the rating indicator. Allowing for a rating of 10 would create a lot of dead space when displaying recipes in the dropdown list.

@HotRod19579 I would like to thank you for taking the time and effort to develop this great tool and share it with everyone. Little gems like this make me remember what the internet is all about and smile. At the beginning I was a bit scared by the plethora of options this e-juice calculator has compared to others, but once I got used to it, it became a vital part of my hobby and it' the only calculator I use now. Truly great work and sincere thanks.

One feature I miss dearly is a setting to automatically adjust a new recipe to Max VG (or PG). I'm aware there's an option in the menu bar to adjust the recipe to max VG or PG but I'm rather talking about the whole process being automatic: Creating a new recipe, adding flavours and your recipe is automatically adjusted to max VG. This would be great help when developing new flavours or editing since it would save the hassle of having to go to the menu bar, adjusting the recipe to max PG and then back to max VG again every time you do an edit.

And I don't know if this has been discussed before and it's not exactly a feature, rather than a great add-on but in my opinion text formatting would be lovely to make those notes more readable.

There is already a way to have a recipe set to max VG automatically but with one small caveat. Set your recipe to 0% PG and 100% VG. The recipe will always calculate the max VG and show you that you should add 0 ml's of PG. The caveat is that you will see a message "Unable to add enough VG for desired level", but you can just ignore the message. This is exactly what the option in the menu bar does; it sets the recipe to 100% VG, looks at the "Results" for the VG% and then changes the VG % to the value contained in the results (so that the warning message isn't shown).
If you want this to occur for all new recipes, go to "Tools->Options", Recipe defaults tab, and set the default VG Percentage to 100. Again, the caveat is the warning message stating that 100% VG could not be obtained.

Wow that's amazing, thank you for the tip!

I always assumed the error would give me a problem in the percentages and cost and never gave it a second look. Glad to see it works perfect!

If it's not much trouble could you also inform me about the correct procedure for backing up and restoring the whole program file? (juice Recipes and Settings)

In the "Tools->Options" go to the "Backup options" tab. Check the box to turn on automatic backups, choose a frequency such as "Every 1 day" and check all of the boxes for "Backup juice data file", "Backup label files" and "Backup options". You can use the default backup location or choose a different folder to store your backups. My recommendation is that you select a location on a cloud drive such as "Google drive" or "Microsoft OneDrive". If you backup to a folder on your PC you are at risk of your PC crashing and loosing not only your juice file but all of your backups. Using a drive in the cloud removes that risk. Google Drive and OneDrive accounts are free and have enough storage to save your backups.
If you need to restore to a new PC you would:
1. Reinstall the calculator.
2. Click the "File->Restore from backups".
3. Navigate to location that your backups are stored such as Google Drive and select one of your backup files to restore from.

Is there a way to compare 2 recipes without starting a second instance of the program i.e. if I had a SB Custard V1 and a SB Custard V2 recipe I would like to have them both open to compare the ingredients (and amounts) to see there differences without having to bounce back and forth opening one then the other in the same currently opened program.

I am having issues with the importing from text option.

I am trying to import a recipie from e liquid recipies. Copy simple text, paste directly into program or saved to a text file to import, i still get the same error message
"Data not in expected format, ingrediants could not be found"

copy simple text yields (never mind the totals, I cut out most ingrediants to just use this as an example)
Nicotine juice 100 mg (30/70 PG/VG)
1.8
2.15
6

VG dilutant
24
30.27
80

Total base
25.8
32.42
86

Almond (FA)
0.15
0.15
0.5

Totals
30
36.62
100

didnt work like that. I tried to change it to what the format in the read me says, so I changed it read like

0.5 Almond
1.0 flavor 2
0.25 flavor 3

i added spaces between each ingrediant. I added a name to line #1, started with ingrediants to lines #2 or #3.
Nothing makes a difference.

Can you please give a clear example of what its looking for?

Hi
I'm desperately looking for a calculator for 50/50 premixed base, with separate pg based nicotine and flavourings.

I started reading from page 1, and could see the calculator had been updated.
Where's best to start looking please?

I only have a smartphone, so I'm not sure if I can download stuff, though I do have Microsoft Excel on it.

Thanks ever so much!

Small "issue": Renaming ingredient/recipe to correct upper/lower case typo's doesn't work. It doesn't detect the changes and just say's Recipe with this name already exists. Or Ingredient with this name already exists.

I get around this by renaming it once with an underscore at the end, then renaming it a second time correctly.

Fixed and will be in the next release.
