Hi loving the program, I have a few suggestions/requests if you don't mind?

A button to access the current inventory on the toolbar would be awesome. Also in the current inventory view, a checkbox to filter out any ingredients that I don't have would be useful just to see what I have in stock. I can do that now by sorting by remaining but then the ingredients aren't alphabetized. It would be cool too if you could edit any of the values in this view on the fly by double clicking the cell.

Only one thing bugs me is that the program doesn't have maximise, minimise and restore buttons. Are these left out intentionally?

I have been trying out your app and it is working nice. Thank you for the work you put into this.

I do have a suggestion. How about a log file generated to keep track of inventory use. It would be nice to know how fast a particular ingredient is being consumed to help with restocking and amounts to buy. If I can see how fast I am using something up, I know to adjust my ordering amounts.

Can you click on the "Details" and then screen shot as much of the detail as you can and PM or email it to me?

What are you doing when the exception above is being thrown? Is it when you are launching the application?

To show the minimize/maximize click "Tools->Show minimize/maximize buttons". Let me give some thought to your other suggestions.

My comp died and I loaded the latest version on the new comp but it isn't accepting the old excel back up. Is there a way to pull my recipe out of the old file?
It sounds like the file might have been corrupted when the computer died.

By any chance did you have the backups turned on "Tools->Options, Backup Options". If so you can navigate to that directory during the File->Open and open one of the backups.

Also, you can email me the file you are having problems with and I will see if I can restore it. JuiceCalculator@Austin.rr.com.

I don't think backups were turned on, not seeing anything in the file that looks like a back file.

I'll email you the file excel file. I attached a screen shot of the message it gives me.

Tried that also, didn't work.

The file that you sent is a .xlsx Excel file that was created by running the export to Excel function. It is not intended to be opened and used by the calculator and not intended to be used as a backup that the calculator can restore from.

You should have a .xml file which is what the calculator uses. By default, this file will be in your "My Documents" in a subdirectory called JuiceCalculator. The .xml is what is needed by the calculator.

I used the Ingredients sheet from the spreadsheet you sent and created an xml file which I sent you. This recovers your ingredients and inventory but it does not recover your recipes. Unfortunately you will have to manually renter your recipes by looking at all of the other tabs in your spreadsheet.

I hope that you can find the .xml. Please make sure that you go to the "Tools->Options", backup tab, and set the calculator up to automatically create backups.

I found the .xml for my recipes in the documents folder, thank god I haven't wiped the drive yet. Also got your email and loaded the file you sent. Does the auto backup cover the ingredients?

All is working now. You sir are the best!!!!!

Yes, the auto backup saves a copy of everything you need to recreate all of your recipes.

I would suggest that you that you sign-up (it's free) for an account that makes cloud storage available to you. Get a Google Drive, OneDrive or DropBox account. These services allow you to have a folder on your PC and the folder is automatically synchronized with a server in the cloud. You can then tell the calculator to store its backups in the folder on your PC which will also be backed up to the cloud.

If you have a PC crash which wipes out your local drive you will still have access to the files stored on the server in the cloud. If you would have wiped your drive, the files stored in your cloud account would have still been available to you. Also note that you can store the XML file that you actively use in the folder. Not only is the folder and files available to you in your cloud account, it can be accessed by multiple PCs that are linked to the account. I have several PCs/Tablets that I run the calculator from. I store my XML file in my OneDrive folder and I can access all of my recipes and ingredients from all of those devices.
