Just got a new set of wheels, and now I have to show off.

99LTC.jpg

It's a '99 with <213k k's on it. It's near mint, loaded with everything except the moon roof. Huge cave in back for groceries, bass gear, golf clubs, dead bodies, the usual stuff. :D
It has a few minor issues, but nothing mechanical. For $3200 I wasn't expecting perfection. The memory seat throws me a bit, but I'll get used to it.
At least now, if I get close to running out of juice and have to get some locally, I can go get it, instead of having to meet in town. (Thx sec. :))
It even still has the phone in it, but I won't bother trying to activate it, I have my own cell and ear bud anyway.
I'm hoping to keep this one for a few years at least. If the wife says "moose" again, I'll hit the highs, and brakes, instead of saying "what?"

I took a 8 hour road trip to get what was reped as a cream puff. 95 chev conversion van. Had a 350 and only 103k on the clock. Talked the guy down from 3-$2500 and got in the car to pick it up. I wish I would have stayed home. I get to the guys house and its been leaking water from bad weather seals. Inside is all stained up. How the pics showed a perfectly clean interior is beyond me. Rolled a window down and would not go up. Wood grain was all discolored door panels where falling apart. Ac was said to have just been serviced but didnt work. The list went on. So I kept my money and made the long trip back home in the old buick.

I hate people like that. Not a thing was wrong with it. lol. I was like dang! I dont want it. To many small issues. He was like where? So I was just like, everywhere. Look at any area besides under something and you will find a problem. Ill make sure I point out them issues for the next buyer. I never drive it. Just said u went on a 18 hour drive in it, each way!! I should have gave that guy a beat down.

heres the link to the van. Pictures are as deceiving as can imagine and so was the seller.

Saw a few like that when we were looking around here as well, (so called "mint" condition) that weren't. Saw a 2005 Buick Century at a dealership. They wanted 2995 as is where is. It was a total rust bucket, and 244k k's, filthy interior and expired inspection. No thanks. Then there's the ones that don't delete the ad, or add *SOLD* so when you call or email, it's gone. :(

The TC has it's quirks, but I'm finding them to be minor, so far. The Driver side side air bag doesn't work, so the light blinks a few times then stays on, (I'll have to count the flashes and determine the code, but the previous owner said it was the DSSAB) the power windows seem to be stuck in window lock mode, so I'm the only one with control over them, and the battery light comes on, but there doesn't seem to be a problem. It has a fairly new alternator and battery, so I suspect a computer glitch. So far, those are the only issues.
From ~ 1/8 tank, it took <$70 to fill it, and the display said we had 501 km to empty. We'll see just how far we get.
It rides great, and the kids love it. :D

Oh, forgot to mention. This car was used for airport limo service by the previous owner, and the lady he got it from drove it to Florida every year. It's also been kept in a heated garage, so there is no rust on or under the car. It is in excellent condition for the year. I have until July to fix any issues that come up for safety inspection, but I don't think it will fail as is. It passed in January. (6 mo inspections for H plated vehicles here.)

They are nice rides for sure. I had a 90 years ago and was paying payments to a co worker. He ended up wanting it back before the first payment was due. Something about sentimental value. So I gave it back. Loved that car though. Could not see them getting any worse the newer they get. My annoyance is that im in the center of any CL city and the closest out of the four CL city's is over 2 hours. Im in the biggest town for over an hours time in any direction and its only 11,000 people. Makes it hard. Might get a K5 blazer from a local dealer on Monday. Or this van but the mpg on it are only 13-17

Its in good shape according to the owner and he said he would take $2500

Nice boat!

Once upon a time I had a '95 Cadillac STS that was basically a 300hp leather lazyboy recliner on wheels. Loved it until the motor finally exploded lol.

And to striker, what a bummer! It does look pretty good in the pictures, too bad it didn't work out. I've always wanted a "...... style " van lol!
