new charging tech

I have seen advertisements for a drill that uses rc lithium batts. The ad says claim's they will recharge in under three minutes. Is this some new tech?

I think they apply a glass coating to the nano-tubes the ions travel along, which makes it easier for them to jump off and get back

heard something about 26650's recharging in 5 minutes

EDIT: the story Ive linked isn't the one i read before, it's a different tech, and I see several others just getting started, so i've no idea what they've done in that particular radio controlled application, let us know if you see something else about it - I don't think anything new is out, yet

thats really interesting, thanks for the link. allows you to charge a electric car in roughly the same amount of time to fill a gas tank. Or charge a cell phone in under a minute. So who will be the lucky ecig modder to apply this to a PV??
