New coil or e-liquid popping?

I just bought new 1,2 ohm replacement coils to replace the original 1.5 ohm coils in my protank 3 / i-stick 50w. I also changed to new e-juice (cherry 50/50 18mg from smoktech). Now it pops really bad when set at 3,7 volts, where it was set previously using mt baker strawberry / bannana 50/50 18mg. It even pops some at lower voltage settings down to ~ 2.8 volts, but I don't get a very strong vape at that setting. Is this because of the different juice or because of the lower ohm coil? Is this the sound of my wick getting fried or what? If so, what is the solution to stop the popping while also get a strong vape?

Sounds like the wick is over saturated. Crank the voltage and vape the excessive out of it.

No luck clearing excessive juice out of the wick. I cranked it to 7 volts and hit it hard a few times until I couldn't stand the burnt taste. It vapes just fine with good taste at 3.7v but it sounds like firecrackers at a very noticeable
volume.

I like that sound it means good vapor and flavor coming my way! Atty hiss is like living next to a train or airport after a little time you don't here it. I think its the LR coil I haven't really noticed one juice pops and crackles more than another.

New coils tend to make more noise over a broken in coil from what Ive noticed.

That's good then. I once lived in a trailer approx. 75 ft from the tracks right at a R/R crossing so I can deal with this, no problem. I just wanted to make sure I didn't have something wrong since I'm new to vaping with very little experience. Thanks for the help!
