New coil problem?

So I bought a new type of coil and I attached to Kanger Protank and screwed the tank on the battery and when I pressed the button the battery light just stayed on until I unscrewed the tank.
Tried it on another battery and it did the same thing. My other tank also works fine.

I searched the forum and did not see any other posts about this. Wondering if anyone experienced this before and what the reasoning behind this is.

Was it a Kanger coil? I'm not quite understanding what a new type is.

So thought I was buying protank/evod coil and it doesn't look like it was either.
So it's a clone.
Stem is shorter and less ribbed and the part that connects to the battery is wider around.

It still screwed into the base and fit though? Weird. I'm guessing its shorted. I would just toss it.

Just attached another one seems to be working okay.
I never had a battery have an issue like that before.

It has to be shorted in some way. Where did you get it?

Fast Tech . Comes with the territory I guess. Sticking with genuine parts from my normal vendor from now on.

Rebuilding original them is supposed to give the best taste and performance, anyway.

Only been vaping for for around 7 months. Haven't ventured into rebuilding coils yet

If I do rebuild it will probably be with the regular kanger ones that I have. The fact that the bottom is wider on these makes for an incredibly tight draw that I do not think I'm a fan of.

Just to give an update. I think I found what was causing the short.

Since the atomizer heads connection is wider than the normal head for protank metal seems to be touching metal where it shouldn't. Wiggled the center post a bit so it was straight and got it to fire!

Glad I caught it before I threw it out.

You see that little wire tag sticking out? That is a No-no. The center is positive and the body is the negative. They can never touch or SHORT.

Snip the excess Flush to the side and the coil should be fine.
