I need to figure out how to correctly wash these. And I'm planning on purchasing another battery, probably an eGo Twist or something similar, and at least one vivi nova.

I finished out one of the cartridges that came with the kit so I could wash it out best I could and fill it with the menthol juice I was vaping in my main set up with the clearomizer. The cartridge is just a tube filled with a cotton ball looking substance, stiffer though. I filled it up with the menthol after drying everything out, and after leaking quite a bit after I reassembled, I was very thrilled with how much smoother it was. I wasn't getting as much vapor, so I think I'm not getting as good a draw as from the clearomizer, but it's not where as harsh. I think the clearomizer is just burning too dry. I'm going to try and modify that silicone cap in there to let more juice hit the atomizer.

And not to hijack or anything, but ... ... I just started a few weeks ago and am trying to figure out what I needed in terms of a new atomizer for the eGo-C I have. Looks like it's a 510-C, as I have to drip about 2-4 drops each session. While that's not horrible, what can I use that might last longer (e.g., not having to drip all the time)? Will at tank work, or will I also need a different atty for that? Would a carto work as well?

Anyway, thanks to everyone for such an incredibly edifying website. Learned a great deal in just a half hour or so of looking around!

These threads would tell you just about anything you'd need to know to get a perfectly fine vape going; in fact, it would be the same vape I've got going right now - Joyetech eGo-C Twist (variable voltage eGo-class battery) with a Vivi Nova tank/atty.

The mix of stuff I recommend includes some single-coil cartomizers; if you got 2.0 ohm single coil cartos, you could use them with your existing battery (power unit, as I like to call it). PM me if you want to give me a call.

Short answer:

If I were just starting out, this is what I would have wanted to have, knowing what I know now:

Three Joyetech eGo-C Twists, or three Vision Spinners, or combination thereof.
Three Vivi Nova tanks; maybe 2- 3.5ml and 1-2.0 ml.
A box of five Boge 2.0 or 3.0 ohm single coil stainless steel XL-sized cartomizers
Two chargers.
Juice - At least 5 flavors, at least 150 ml total, 18mg, 80/20.
Lanyard.
Trim ring.

You're done.

I truly wish it had been this simple when I was just starting out.
