I have been lurking these forums for the past week. I have been trying to consume as much knowledge as possible before making my move, but there is a lot of it.

Past: I have been smoking for 10 years. I have been smoking ultra lights, outside of needing to bum one here and there. For most of the 10 years I have been averaging 8-10 cigarettes a day. Compared to most people I know, I am not a heavy smoker.

Currently: I got married a few months ago, and I know eventually a kid will come along. I do not want to wait till my wife is pregnant to try and rush quit, cause I have a feeling that will not work. Last week I stopped and got an e-cig at Walgreen's. It was just a disposable Blu brand e-cig. I bought it before I really started reading here, cause I wanted to make sure it was something even worth pursuing. To my surprise, it has actually helped quite a bit. Since last Monday, I have smoked exactly 5 cigarettes a day. That is pretty much half of what I have been smoking, and I don't feel the need to have a cigarette when I just puff on the e-cig for a minute or two.

Future: Ideally I would like to completely get off cigarettes. I know it won't come easy, but after testing the e-cig, I think it is definitely going to be more effective than patches or pills. Especially since I mostly smoke cause of oral fixation as opposed to nicotine. What I had come up with after reading was that the Volt kits seem to be pretty popular. It also seems to be reasonably priced. The issue I had with the Blu e-cig was that I could only really feel the vapor when I exhaled through my nose. While the e-cig did it's job, as far as I am concerned, I think it can be better. I was hoping for something a little thicker. Will the volt give me that?

I am certainly open to ideas. I don't really think I need to get too fancy. The disposable one worked, I just think it would be more expensive, and a waste to keep buying those.

I personally would go with an eGO. I started with those, not fancy, simple and do an amazing job. Decent price, especially with a discount. However, I would advise to get different tanks.
Ego electronic cigarette

Any Volt Battery with give you better everything, some people love them..then there are people like me who really don't care for the, I'm just simple though. As for the volt, you'd want to do some research. Figure out if it really is going to be good for you.

Hi and welcome! Grimm Green has a nice overview of starter products: TAKING THE NEXT VAPING STEP - YouTube

ETA: I just watched the video again and some of his suggestions are outdated, in that other products have entered the market since he filmed it. If filmed today, he would likely recommend an eGo Twist or Vision Spinner as the next next device after the eGo.
