New drip tip.

Hi today I bought a new drip tip for my Unitank. It's a cobra. It sort of seems like the taste is muted a bit? is there a breaking in period with new tips or is it just in my head?

I think the bore ( the size of the hole in the middle ) in the drip tip is what affects flavor. I have noticed that if its smaller then i get more flavor. It essentially tightens the draw a bit.

I'd avoid metal drip tips; chances are it's going to be chrome plate and I wouldn't be surprised if there was high lead content;

I'd aim for glass drip tip.

I'm no expert on the delrin material, but it seems to be pretty popular- the black plastic one typical in CE4's for example.

As mainusch said the bore hole tends to make a difference also with smaller bore hole you can have longer drip tip too mute some of the heat, some people get weird tastes with SS but don't find this.

The metal ones i use are stainless steel and sometimes it does get a strange taste but not too noticable.
