New ego not vaping much, break in period?

i just got a new ego today and wondered if the atty needs to be broken in to make more vapor?
i have been using the joye510 and it produces tons of vapor compared to the ego so far. seems like its about half the vape from the ego. i thought maybe i drown the atty so i blew it out and tried again and still not much vapor at all. im using the same liquid as the 510 and put the 510 atty on the ego and it worked great so i know its not the battery. i have taked around 30 or so puffs so far with no better vapor than the 1st.
do the egos just not make as much vapor?

In my experience the eGo I have produces more vapor than my titan 510. Did you fully charge the battery or just use it out of the box?

I'm assuming when you say eGo you mean eGo mega atty. Otherwise it's either a 510 or XL 510 (or whatever that one is called). They are all 510 threaded. Or are you saying that the joye 510 atty you have is generating more vapor than the joye eGo 510 atty?

Same here. 2 eGo kits - one with Mega attys and one with standard 510s. The megas generate more vapor on the same battery.

and when full, the mega cartos (whistle tip) even more vapor.
The "eGo" is the battery and cone. If your eGo works with your other 510 atty, your eGo is OK.
It's the other part.

the ego with standard new in box battery is not working as good as the joye510.
i get 2x more vapor with the 510 than i do with the ego, is this common or do they need a break in period? thanks

i am having that problem with the one i just received today. not had this with the other ego's. charge up the battery. if that doesn't work try a different atomizer or wash out the atty that came with it. maybe the holes are not completely unplugged.

I can't say that I know what the cause of the problem is that the OP is experiencing. But, I do know that not all atomizers are created equal.
I've received shipments of a half dozen attys, all the same model and from the same supplier ... and had some in the batch far outperform others.

after vaping the ego for 2 days strait im very unimpressed with it, the 510 is much better on vapor production so im just gonna sell the ego attys and carts or trade the ego stuff for some 510 attys since they work much better, looks like some of the ego attys work great and others are trash. thanks for the replys

So if I'm reading this right - you dont have a 510 atty, you actually have an eGo-Atty ?? This changes my understanding of what an ecig 'kit' is. I thought eGo was just a marketing term placed on the bundle of the battery and atty... in other words, if I bought an eGo battery, and a standard 510 atty - I would now have a completed 'eGo kit'... ??

i have a 510 kit and an ego kit, the ego is a different model made by joye, it has a larger battery and atomizer and cartidriges than the 510 model does.
the 510 atty and cartridges will fit the ego battery.

its cheaper to buy the ego kit that comes with 2 batteries,chargers,attys and cartridges than having to buy the batteries and charger alone, you can get an ego for less than 60.00 shipped if you look around.

well if you received ego attys in your kit instead of regular 510 attys then all you need to do is use the attys from your original 510 kit. the difference between the original 510 and the ego is all about the battery size. if you did get ego attys then just get a cone to cover the 510 atty. it's 6.5 hours on an ego battery so it's worth it.


i have heard some of the new kits are being sold this way, but there are plenty of vendors that still sell it with the standard 510 atty plus cone

Agreed. I have one of each. The mega atty and cart produces more vapor for me. OP you may have a bad mega atty. Did you r kit come with two? did you try the other one?

yeah i tried both mega ego atty and they both have weak vapor, i have to take a huge drag to get any good vapor from the ego so im gonna stick with the 510 atty and use the ego batteries.

Have you tried the CE2-XL-510-Stainless Steel (no wrapper) cartomizers with the eGo?
2.6 to 2.8 ohm and 3.0 to 3.2 ohm. I use the 3 ohm ones, but that might be too cool for you.
The wrapped ones block some of the air through the cone.

I think the OP took the atty off the Joye510 and put it on the new eGo. So, if the same cart/atty is used on both batts, the OP is saying better vape out of Joye510 batt than eGo batt. All I can think of is either the eGo batt is not fully charged, or possibly the contact needs to be cleaned. Doesn't make sense that the lower amperhour batt would out vape the smaller batt. I have eGo and RIVa batts, but have no experience with Joye510 batts. Any chance the Joye510 is higher voltage? If this is the case then the higher voltage batt will likely produce more vapor w/same atty/cart. JMHO

it sounds like your atty is not wicking very well. there is no ego and 510 atty's they are all the same atty.

I have had 510 atty's that would not pull the juice down. they vaped very poorly, but if I put 2 drops on
the atty it would billow very well.

it sounds like your ego came with one of these poorly wicking atty's. you should get a replacement atty.

It sounds to me like you just got a bad atty or maybe you just need to break it in. Are the attys that came with your eGo kit the same diameter as the batteries? If so then you have the MEGA attys and the MEGA attys vape a lot better than the standard 510's (in my opinion). The standard 510 atomizers are also compatible with the eGo batteries. In fact any atty that has a 510 thread connection can be used on an eGo batterie such as the 306. There are 3 different atomizers that could potentially come with an eGo. We have pretty much covered 2 of them, the standard or LR 510 atty and the MEGA atomizer(B type). There is another atomizer known as the A type. It is similar in design to the eGo when it has the cone on it. It threads on the battery and the shape of the atty is tapered down similar to the cone. I'd give it another shot breaking it in, any atomizer can be "stubborn" at first.

since i have been smoking the ego more the atty has broken in some and is alot easier to hit, i still like the 510 and will use the 510 attys on the ego.

I get the same response from new atties every time I buy them. They can be weak at first, especially if they have been soaked in that nasty-tasting protective liquid. After I wash them, tap a dry burn, and run some liquid through them (3 or 4 drops into the atty and then blow the liquid out the bottom of the atty, much like a straw), they start working much better and they break in faster. Some atties take a long time to break in, others are practically good to go right out of the packaging. All depending on the brand, type, and just plain-ol' luck of the draw. Not all atties are created equal. You can buy a 10-pack of atties, and some will be weak, others will be vaping monsters.
