although some kids smoke from issues of anxiety. They try one & feel 'less anxious' & have another. Just saying, but for the most part you are correct. I started out of 'the desire to do that which is forbidden' (rebellion LOL) but continued,in part cause it had a calming effect.

Well I'm not going to sit here and say that tobacco has no benefit. I obviously got some benefit out of it or I wouldn't have smoked for 20 years. I don't know about the anxiety part, but I do know that nicotine helps me far more with ADD than any prescription drug ever did, in combination with caffeine and you have one potent combination. And it did that without the zombie effect that Adderall, and Ritalin gave me. And no the "zombie effect" was not a side effect, for me it was the main effect.

As such in my case I've always been interested in THR from my standpoint. I view nicotine as not only enjoyable it provides a clear benefit to my concentration.

However, the primary reason for starting smoking in the first place for me, and for many (if not most) was that it was forbidden. Forbidden fruit is always viewed as the sweetest. That might be something about the human condition, or it might not be. However, even today a sure fire way to get me to do something is to tell me I can't do it.

Speculation and drum-beating is at this time is a waste of energy...unless racheting up ill-will among vapers is a vapor screen for what the powers that be around ECF and in the ecig realm may have up their sleeve.
Speculation is healthy, and it helps us understand the possibilities.
And drum-beating is a wise move, because it gets us involved, motivated, and ready.

When the proposed Demon Regulations are released, we'll know where we stand.
And if it looks ugly, I hope that every vaper everywhere will have already laid out their network of support.

And that means family, friends, and co-workers as a start.
And the vendors you work with, who in the end will probably make the biggest difference.

Apathy and trust are not in our best interest at this time.
Awareness, readiness, and building a network are about the only thing that can save us if things go badly.

without raising a ruckus it doesnt get any attention...

my biggest concern is the flavor limitation... i think its awesome that people experiment with flavors to create new and wonderful creations! ya the fact that they are using that as a factor in "causing the youth to take up vaping" is ridiculous... i would wager that about 95% of people that started young did so because it was taboo or forbidden. like others, i continued smoking because of its effect on anxiety and all that.

my BEST CASE senario for the FDA situation would be for them to put it on the back burner and endorse scientific discovery and trials...

I am right there with you Abe. My ADHD is insufferable without nicotine and caffiene. Both, given at regular intervals make my mind able to focus and have made me the problem solver I am. I make my living with that skill. If I cannot vape, I will be forced to obtain my nicotine from other means....none of which are as effective or desirable as vaping.

I will not accept arbitrary rules that some pig wishes to jam down my throat like some sheep, that is for sure. CASAA remains our best defense of our right to vape. That is a fact.

I am pleased to see you, too, DC.

PS - If you have nothing nice to say about the FDA, come sit next to me!

"It's safe smoking -- like smoking with a condom on," said William Taskas, a Canadian distributor who is marketing a product called SmokeStik.
What makes the electronic cigarette more than just the latest curiosity from China is the enthusiasm it has inspired among respected anti-tobacco activists."

Nicotine can't be banned.

The center was created following a 2009 law gave the FDA authority to regulate a number of aspects of tobacco marketing and manufacturing, though the agency cannot ban nicotine or cigarettes

Nicotine can be good.

Bottom line, I can't make my own cigs but I can make my own E liquid. Canada has not banned e cig equipment....it'll still be around;)

Snus comes close, but unless you can get the Swedish stuff its not worth it. American attempts at snus making have been a miserable failure so far. I've been trying to pair different juices with different coffees and teas. But I may just be weird.
