I could care less about the version or theme of the forum... That can be changed on a dime.

The main problem at the moment still seems to be the hardware behind it. Whatever server this is running on apparently doesn't have the processing power needed to handle the number of active users.

Guessing this was one of the reasons for the version upgrade? Was definitely worth a shot, but didn't resolve the issues. For the last couple hours, I've been told "The server is too busy at the moment. Please try again later." Same as last version. Upgrading the box would probably help more than upgrading the software IMHO

We are upgrading "the box". In fact, when it's all said and done, we'll be running on two servers instead of one like before. Also, the forum template and skin you see now will be replaced with something a bit more familiar.

Patience, grasshoppers. This is a work in progress, and fairly soon, we'll be where we want to be. We're not even close yet. It's not just a matter of popping in a new version and calling it good, there is still a LOT of work to be done in the background. We're just keeping the forums open so people can post while we work on it.

No problem. I run a couple IPB forums and generally dread upgrade time....so I know what a pain it can be. I also ran a graphics group that developed IPB skins (back when IPB was still free) and found that most of the time...less is better. Function over form sort of thing. Anyway....I can wait and see what you come up with.

Don't like the MAIL icons.....the Stickys should be a different shape or color than the rest. Is there a way that we can eliminate all the articles that appear before the forum contributions? Maybe put it at the bottom?

The plan is to get it back to looking pretty much the same as it used to, with just a few little improvements here and there, and some more options for forum skins so you guys have more to choose from.

The old software had a lot of customizations and Addons that we need to get replaced, or at least get working with the new version. I believe Alex is going to change to a better database system, as well, which should speed things up quite a bit.

I think within a week, you guys will like what is being done.
