Hello!

I am a new GG user with an Ithaka and tbh I am completely new to building coils. I was hoping that I could have some advice on measuring Ohm's of coils when creating new coil build. I presently am using 28ga A-1 res and 28g no res (nickle annolet 100%) wire and have experienced everything from burnt tastes to an almost perfect vape (I just feel it is lacking some vapor atm) on the current coils I have setup. At the present time I am looking at an Ohm meter (510 connection to test coil in device) as well as a multimeter (to measure wire ohms prebuild) and possibly a zapper (because the damn knots keep getting in the way when threading the coils through the channels). Any suggestions on whether or not I am going in the right direction for refining my coil building and or possibly a personal experience on how one of you have created your system for coil building and ohm reading. I was also wondering if anyone felt these purchased would be unnecessary or should I definitely purchase all three?

Thanks!
~Kevin

Multimeters will measure ohms and voltage so you don't need both unless you want one of those cool digital box meters where you screw in your carto/atty and it reads the ohms. The Zapper is not a necessity and is expensive but it would be convenient and a time saver if you can figure out how to use it. I know a few people had trouble getting it to work but that could be user error. Learning how to join wire just takes some practice to get small knots.

Here is a link to an ohms law calculator that I stole from Katya. Another way to find the ohms you want is to place one lead of your multimeter at the end of the wire and the other end somewhere along the length of wire until the meter reads the ohms you want. Put a bend in the wire there then cut off a little extra to work with. Your coil will be from the bend to the end of the wire. If you are using NR wire at both ends of your coil then put your lead a couple inches from the end of the wire, find the ohms you want and make the bend, then cut it off a couple inches past the bend. Hope that helps.
