Yes they will! This is a huge contest! :D
On another note, can you all say a quick prayer for my puppy (well she's almost 3, but still my puppy) she woke up this morning covered in hives!! She's a white boxer so they're really visible on her:(
I have given her Benadryl and a oatmeal bath and she's not drooling as much and seems to be scratching less. I'll be taking her into or taking to the vet as soon as they open. She's had to have been bitten by something, again, or she ate something...anyway please pray for her because she's awesome, and because she's a great doggie! Poor things sleeping now, I hope the Benadryl is enough to get rid of the hives and she'll feel better soon...

Firewing, a prayer was sent as soon as I read this post. I have a Black Lab/German Shorthaired Pointer that got into a huge mess of chocolate the other month (back to normal now). I know the sinking feeling you get when something bad has happened to your baby, and you dont quite know how to fix it right away. I'm glad to hear in a more recent post that she seems to be doing better, cuz I hope so.

She's doing much better, she's acting normal anyway, but she's still got huge welts everywhere. The vet doesn't open for another hour and a half, that's one thing that's horrible about living in a small town. I think I'm doing everything I can be at this point...I hope I am anyway.

Yeah she's eating and drinking. I'd almost say it looks like she got into some red ants...I hope they can see her today at the vets, until I talk to them I'm just letting her chill on the couch with me, and as long as she's drinking and getting up and playing I'm not super worried about her, but it looks ugly...and I know it's bothering her, she's scratching at the welts. Poor sweetie, being a boxer, her skin in very thin and seems to be really sensitive...

The puppy dog in my avi was allergic to flea bites. Had a couple really bad years where she went through the same thing.

If you have any cortizone cream or spray, you can spray those welts to ease the itching. I keep it on hand here....along with several different anti-itch sprays for dogs, but the cortizone works better. I have a boxer and yep...very sensitive skin.....and a few of her pups have inherited those sensitivities. My girl can't even wear a collar but for short spurts cause she breaks out from the metal in the ring....and her rabies tags....forget it....those stay in my wallet.

The vet will probably give her a shot of steroids for the swelling and give benadryl. Toward the end of lucky's life his eye sight wasnt great and wasp hives used to make him curious. Would have been cheaper to get him glasses. ;) Hope she feels better soon. Glad she is drinking as benadryl can be dehydrating.

I tried a bunch of different stuff on Buddie and got to the point that I was feeling bad about all the meds and chemicals that I was putting on/in her.

I went on an internet search. I then went to got some Borax (detergent..can be found almost everywhere). There is a recipe for this: Borax and water. Can't remember the amounts for each though. I first just dunked her in it the first time and then just sprayed the worst spots for the next couple of days.

This could only do be done for three consecutive days but it helped so much.

My Italian Greyhound has such sensitive skin I cant even use any kind of soap or wash on him, no matter how gentle.

Even baby shampoo....of the human variety?

The first thing that comes to mind on stuff like this is the same as laundry detergent.....fragrances can do a number on doggies, just like some people. It's been so long since I've really shopped for baby stuff, so I don't know if they have a baby shampoo that's frangrance free....like they have done with so many detergents.

I kinda envy you though....I hate bath time....probably cause they don't care much for it so I end up just as wet and soapy as they do :lol:

I have some Benadryl cream, but am afraid to use more Benadryl and cause her to get too much antihistamine if that makes sense. I don't have any cortisone cream, or spray but do have some steroid cream.Hmmm... My little one is a white boxer so her skin is very pink all the time, we can tell if she's too hot or too cold by how pink her skin is. She's very pretty and she's a great dog, she's great with my kids...I just hope I can get her feeling better soon.

A 'liked' post does not mean you've got that number (or that you yourself are even liked). The first person to pick a number gets that number whether it's marked on the board or not. When we 'Like' your picks that means one of the five helpers are marking them on the board. If there are any mistakes/conflicts, we will reply to your post. So check back a while after you pick to see if we noted any problems.

Please do not edit your pick posts. If someone already took your number, please wait for a helper to post the error. Please "Reply With Quote" to the helper's post with your new pick.

A helper will announce a new round of picks at random times, so check back often and keep track of what round you've already made picks in.

Rounds may last anywhere from 16 seconds to 36 hours based solely on our whim. There are no rules. Life is unfair. Good luck!

We call it a "reset" when we go into a new round. You still keep all of your previous picks. If you miss a round you do not get to back and make up picks. You can only make picks for the current round.

The game ends when the sheet is filled. We then announce the winning pick.

Theses aren't rules. They are guidance. And they may change at any time. Without prior notice. Maybe even without ensuing notice.
