If you use that metric, then there will be approximately ZERO teachers. I have parents who can't read or spell at a 6th grade level. Their kid is ALWAYS right & the teacher is always wrong when it comes to corrective actions for bad behavior and/or poor performance. Most times they don't even comprehend the subject being taught. I don't & won't "suck up". I tell 'em how the rat ate the cheese. So I call bullshirt on that idea.
If they want to "grade" me, then have another professional who's certified in my discipline and has the same, or similar, credentials come in and do my assessment. I didn't HAVE to get a Master's degree in Curriculum & Instruction. I wanted it. I wanted to be a more effective teacher. I certainly didn't do it 'for the money'. The pay differential is minimal. I'd have to teach for ~40 years to come close to making that money back.
If they keep fluxing with the educational system, I'll tough out the next 7 years, "retire early" (at 60), and go deliver pizzas or so something where I'm treated with respect by the customer & my boss.
/Rant off
sorry ya won't get much respect from customers delivering pizza. the cooks screw up the orders and its always the drivers fault...
