Well... the chocolate sorbet tastes AMAZING, but it never really set up. I ran it for 40 minutes which is the far end of what my ice cream maker's instructions say and it came out really thin. Gonna see how it comes out of the freezer tomorrow.

Is ur ice cream maker one of those that uses rock salt? If so I have found i have to continue to add ice and salt and stir the mixture of ice and salt every 10 min or so til its done otherwise none of mine froze til I started that

Yeah. It's one of those. I didn't stir the ice around, but I did add ice and salt every 10 minutes or so as it the level dropped.

I have one of those goofy freeze the container electric ice cream makers. I've often wondered if I ran an extension cord and ran the danged thing in the freezer, or at least the refrigerator, if it wouldn't set up better. The only thing I've had really come out well was a cheesecake icecream, and I think that was merely because it had a large amount of cream cheese and so was predisposed to being solid.

But I'm totally going to try this chocolate sorbet.
