Hello, new user here from Portland Oregon. Just got a new green smoke. Bought a bunch of 18mg, menthol cartridges. Also got an 8 pack sample. I have tried all the cartridges and like NONE of them. They are like smoking a regular cigarette while sick with a sore throat. The throat hit is very raspy. Also, the taste of the cartridges are not good. Im a regular cigarette smoker of 25 years at a little over a pack a day of Liggett brand menthol light 100's. Not really sure what to do with all these gross cartridges. The vapor is great and I like everything else about the green smoke but the taste of the cartridges. Are there any other compatible cartridges that would taste better???? Please help...have really been looking forward to quitting analogues.

Dennis

PS: Sorry if this question has already been asked a million times. I truly appreciate the help.

Welcome PDX. Don't despair. Many of us have problems in the early going. We can figure it out.

Some e-cigs come with a primer on the atomizer. If you use the atomizer before removing the primer, it tastes terrible, like you lit the wrong end of a cigarette. Is this sort of what you're tasting?

I'm not familiar with Green Smoke, but most cartriges can be refilled. The cartridges won't last very long before they need to be refilled, anyway. There's a mindboggling list of juice vendors. Let us know what types of juices you'd be interested in, and we can direct to a some vendors to check out.

Good Luck!

i had an E9 from GS as my first PV. it was ok, but the carts tasted terrible. the flavor selection is awful and the battery life is just meh.

i switched to the KR808 from vapor4life.com and i love it. they have a great flavor selection of carts and juices.

IMO, i would go with them. Their carts taste good, the battery is MUCH better and their customer service is outstanding.

Welcome Dennis. Do not feel alone in your mistake. I made 3 mistakes before finding this forum and getting it all straight. MistressNomad gave me a link for some real menthol tasting ejuice that taste like real cigs. They are having a 25% sale right now if you use the discount code tobacco
members here tole me to get the KR808D for a great starter. Here is a link where you can buy the starter kit for $25.00
KR808D-1 Starter Kit (White) [VJK004] - $24.95 : VaporJunction, E-Cigarette Supply

Here is the link for the tobacco flavored ejuice (remember discount code tobacco)

Good luck!

Thanks for the links Salemgold. Do others concur that the menthol juice in the above link is good? There are so many people selling these things that Im not sure what is just a sales pitch and what isn't. Absolutely no offence intended. I think I could some how empty these green smoke cartridges and refill them with a different juice, correct? I would I empty the cartridge. I popped one open and it looked like just a dried up piece of batting in it. Is this how a new cartridge is suppose to look? Anyways, how would I empty out the old juice and add the new flavor?

Thanks
Dennis

Ok. Thanks everybody for the responses. Maybe I should return the cigarette. It has a 30 day return policy I think. If I retun it, what new one should I get? I like the regular size cigarette ones as opposed to the pen style. I want a really good menthol flavored juice. What is recommended? So glad I found this forum.

Thanks
Dennis

Hey PDX. Honestly, you just aren't going to get high performance out of any model that's the same size as a regular cig. The Green Smoke actually isn't a bad super-mini (besides being over-priced). It's just that super-minis aren't very powerful, and often, also not very reliable.

Honestly, if you like the idea of the 2-piece system, get a Kr808D-1. Yes, it's a a bit bigger than a cig, but the performance is so much better, and you can buy blank cartos cheap. In fact, you can buy the whole kit cheap - $35 at Electro Nic Stix (where I got mine).

If you REALLY want to stay with a super-mini, try the 3-piece M401. It's the size of 100 cigarette. It's the most well-liked super mini, it seems. Though honestly, after trying the M401 and the Blue, I wouldn't spend money on either. I bought the bigger Kr808, and I'm glad I did.

EDIT: Server was down, didn't see your last post.

To remove flavor completely, you really need to boil the carto. But if you're just going to try a different menthol, you can refill with that. It just won't taste exactly like it would in a clean/blank carto.

Taste is very subjective and what works for one person won't work for another. However, I find them to be a quality vendor, and I was happy with the tobacco-flavored juice I bought from them. For the record, I bought Lucky Strike juice. And it wasn't EXACTLY like a Lucky Strike, but the toasted flavor was there, which isn't in any other tobacco flavor I've tried. So for me, it's a good approximation.

I can't promise that you'll like the flavor, but I can promise you that they're a good vendor and that they'll try their best to give you what you want.

Well, at this point in time, I think Im going to return the starter kit to green smoke. Too bad they wont take back the two extra boxes of menthol cartridges I bought to. Anyways, I will be out about $50 on the deal but then, I will buy the kr8080D-1 stater kit, with black cartridges and maybe a 10ml bottle of "menthol" juice and a 10ml bottle of "Neuport" juice and go from there. I REALLY REALLY want this whole e-cig thing to work so I can ditch these nasty analogues once and for all.

Thanks so much for all the help.

Dennis

Dennis, Believe me I understand why you are gunshy. I got ripped off on 2 different commercial models before I found this forum and returned both. I bought the KR808-D and I promise you that there atr no sales pitches from members here. Just folks stating their honest opinion based on their experience. I bought 3 of the KR808-D for $35 each. The link that I gave you in my last post has the KR808-D for $25. This forum is a great place to learn the tons of info that you need to know about this stuff. Trust these members I have not been steered wrong yet.
And when ordering your juice, don't forget to use coupon code tobacco for 25% off. I also smoke menthol and ordered the Salem flavor.
I have heard that the Smilin Menthol Cartos from Vapor 4 Life are good too. I ordered some but have not received. Their is a thread on this forum titled Best Menthol Flavor? You may want to read it to gain some info on the subject as to what other folks think taste best to them.

To me, the greensmoke is a subpar product with an incredibly marked up price (about 100 dollars over the true worth if they haven't changed their prices) and I'd suggest getting some of your own liquid with blank cartriges, or if you feel like dripping (not THAT much of a hassle) you won't have to worry about bad taste again. Even emptycarts can taste nasty because of the polyfil inside melting with the heat of the atomizer. But dripping would fix this. Also you should take a look at cartomizers, a lot of people love them. Good luck and welcome!

PDX- I would personally reccomend a 510 starter kit from Cignot.com. Great prices and extremely fast shipping and also wonderful customer service. The 510 is not much bigger than a cigarette, and
It is honestly the best performing "cig sized" model you can find (of course some may disagree but not many, it is just my opinion)
If you want something REALY reliable then go with the eGo or Tornado. Look around on here and you will find wonderful reviews about the 510, tornado, and eGo. All 3 are a 510 model but the eGo and Tornado have bigger long-lasting batteries (anywhere from 6-12 hours depending on how much you vape)

FNG here too! I've enjoyed reading all the posts and have learned quite a bit. I started with green smoke about a month ago. They were my first e-cig and I was pretty impressed . Decent vapor and I like the multi flavor cartridges you can get. I also tried a company called Smoke Tip. Their half the price of Green smoke and i seem to get a better hit. Anyway that's all for now. Look forward to learning more.
