Been a smoker for 20 years, the last year a bit over a pack a day. I tried an ecig about two years ago without success, it was one of the commercial cig lookalikes and it just didn't put out enough vapor or nicotine to do the trick. Fast forward to my last dental appointment. I broke a tooth badly and my dentist and I decided to go ahead with a dental implant, a pretty invasive procedure. He told me the success rate is greatly diminished for traditional smokers so we agreed it was time for me to quit for good. After a week of research here on the forum, I placed an order for an itaste SVD. two itaste 30 clearos, and an assortment of liquids in different strengths and flavors. Anyhow, I am now at hour 26 without a cig and my cravings are under control. I am vaping five pawns 5th Rank liquid at 18mg between 3.5 and 4.5 volts, and when I get a bad craving I move to a 24mg Banzai RadBerry. All is well. I was pleasantly surprised my sense of taste and smell was increasing already, and my lungs are starting to clear out. Thanks to the forum, I'm now calling myself a non smoker!

Great!!! So many of us made the switch from cigs. It works.

Seems like you are on a good plan. I recommend a spare system in the car. Well, for me I am never far from my car. Real bummer to have your SVD have an issue and have the urge to stop for cigarettes. When I get a new MOD, my current becomes my back-up.

Congrats! I enjoy it, no urges, and my doctor says "good".

I second these wise words.
Since you have an SVD already (wish I had done that) we will assume you have batteries and a charger which is sometimes more money than the mod itself :) so picking up another nice mod that can use those batts is a pretty cheap option.

Thanks for the kind words and support. I agree, I do need to get a backup device so I'm not tempted if I get a malfunction. I am looking for a more compact and easier to use unit for my wife, and something to travel with. I also am researching tanks/clearomizers that have a glass or metal canister so I can try some of the flavors that aren't compatible with the plastics. I'm a fan of liquorice and cinnamon flavors so to be able to try those would be a plus. I just got home from a follow up appointment with my dentist and he said he noticed a difference in my gums already. I am really excited about this, to be able to put down the smokes without the bad cravings is fantastic.

Welcome to ECF, and congrats on your first 24!

I was in the same boat, been smoking a pack-a-day for over 20 years. It took over 6 months for the vaping to completely take over my smoking, but I did it, and you will too!

Sounds like you have some good gear, good juice, and a solid plan. Enjoy your vaping journey!
