Hello everyone, fairly new vaper here.Smoked Cigarettes for 20 years. Started vaping almost 1 month ago and haven’t touched or wanted one since! Looking to upgrade from my smok Nord 2 and smok fetch pro to a full Sized box mod with either a good Subohm tank or RTA(leaning more toward the RTA).Anyway just wanted to say Hello.
hello and welcome to ecf
eh I can't help much as I don't subohm....well I do but I don't, I don't do tanks either, I use rda's for the flavor...
but if you are looking for a good mod, I'd suggest the aegis legendit has been my favorite for a year now...
dual 18650, water resistant, can take a beating, temp control (which I don't use, only bought because it offers firmware upgrades)...if you buy the kit, it comes with a mesh coil tank which is nice for flavor, but can't beat the wotofo profile with mesh(again I use rda's not rta's)
but best of luck on finding something that works for you
might want to check out the RTA Forums for some ideas
The Nord 2 is a pretty good little kit.Good battery life and a huge selection of Nord and Rpm coils. For nic salt I like the 1.0ohm single rpm coil at 14 watts, freebase the 0.4ohm mesh rpm coil at 25 watts.
issues: Coil life is not the best, the rpm coils leak with nic salt for some reason but I’ve had no issue with freebase juice. Also it’s a very restricted hit with very little airflow.I prefer my fetch pro with freebase even though coil life with the rgc coils are crap. The rpm coil pods for the fetch pro have even less air flow than the Nord 2.
I did look in the RTA forums, but due to vape supply’s and covid I’ve decided to wait for the time being. Most of what I was looking at was out of stock.
As far as mods go I went with the Geek vape aegis x.It comes with the zeus sub ohm tank.I also ordered the the Freemax Mesh Pro tank(really been wanting to try it!), extra coils, battery’s and charger!Hopefully everything will be in before next weekend.
Nic salts are better with lower ohm, mostly so you don't take too much nic at once, but they can leak when a coil has less "padding" because it is wicked faster than it's heating up. Mesh coils tend to be better with less leaking. Sometimes airflow designs can help.
Freebase tends to be thicker so it doesn't over wick as fast but usually requires a higher wattage for absorption. Of course their are freebase liquids with lower pvg concentrations and they can leak too.
Mesh pro is legit. I used Freemax mesh pro and not sub-ohm because I tend to free base. Can't get any coils in IN right now but.... I could run some of my high sugar coil killers from hell with it with fairly good life. The initial hits dont have a weird coating flavor and gotta say....my coils lasted 1.5 weeks with my coil killer juice a pretty fair amount. I didn't have leaking. My significant other did have leaking with 2 mesh pros both of them were the non coated silver. I decided maybe that caused it to not seal as well but he also could have been blessed with bad luck.
It requires coil priming. That part can be awkward. I usually did quad so getting the top of each quad was annoying but helped with overall life.
Best tank I have ever had, even if the color choices kinda sucked, imo
I’m excited for it to get here so I can park this coil eating Smok fetch pro.Its good to hear your coil killing juice lasted a week or more. That was my main attraction the the mesh pro was coil life.I always prime my coils, if I get atleast one week per coil I’ll be a happy camper.I ordered 2 boxes of coils for it, a box of triples and Quads to try out.Everything has shipped And should be here Friday, minus new Ejuice shipment but those company’s are close by.
I have a smok right now out of desperation due to coil shortages @ local vape shops. Some people may not agree with me but I think smok coils wish they were RDA/RTA.
"We bring you large clouds, less flavor, and two days later the taste of burnt cotton. I can see from your face that your enthusiasm has expired. Please insert new coil to try again."
Meanwhile, RDA/RTA "Rewick us for we are your cotton and coil. We will be faithful when you change our cotton at least once a week. We will love you when you change our coil every 2 weeks. In doing this you restore us and you will be happy."
*Hey smok can you be an RDA/RTA?*
Smok says,"Please insert new coil and try again."
I think your giving smok some credit.Popped a new coil in Sunday night got to work the next day and bam burnt taste! Less then 60 puffs on that coil, I now bring this with me to work. Hopefully the 4 will last till I get home From work Friday.
oddly I still want to pick up a smok tfv16 tank just to have.Local shop is having a sell I may get one.
Don't do it!!!!! broken dreams, burnt coils lol. And, yes I give Smok a little credit because juice, watt/temp, tank matter enough to credit them one extra day and...who knows they might be watching.
And in that case...Smok I think your below par even after the long awaited arrival of mesh coils. Smok, you meshed up. You smoked up and I'll still be inserting a new coil and trying again later.
I’m already used to burnt dreams of broken coils! Or broken dreams of burnt coils! Same thing, I want it for more of a novelty IIRC it’s like a 9ml tank.Ive got the Freemax mesh pro and Geekvape Zeus for actual Use.The sale the shop has will be like $25 plus comes with a free bottle of juice. So roughly $13 to $15 for the tank.
A 60ml bottle of juice here is like 30 bucks lol.
I think my tank was 27ish...
Shakes head
Haven't really been following this thread but I will say that sometimes I get frustrated with "drop-in" coil and RTA issues... might just keep a simple RDA handy (I have a dual coil one but would rather just have a single coil RDA)premium juice and dripping on a rda?
