Hello I am new to this I have heard mixxed things about e-cigs but want to give it a shot. A friend of mine sent me here. He recomended the 510 catamizer. I need something that meets these needs and want to know if the 510 will.

Needs to have a portable charging case avalible.
Needs to hold enough juice for a day. I smoke 10-15 cigs a day.
Needs to be reliable. Nothing worse than not having a smoke when you need one.

And a few more questions.

What are some good cheap websites to order this stuff from? I am in usa.
How much juice will it take to equal say a pack of cigs?
What all do I need to get started?

Hi and welcome.
Looks like you got a smart friend.

I'd do some reading first so you know a little more than a little about the e-cig.

Other hardware if it’s still usable.

Welcome, Pope! Glad you're friend pointed your way here. If you haven't already, I'd recommend reading the Wonderful World of Vaping in the ECF Library as it's a great source for the basics.

The 510 is a very reliable ecig and can be used with a PCC (portable charging case). Should work well for you since you were a relatively light smoker. Cignot has a great no-box starter kit and one with a PCC as well for resonable. Hope that helps.

First off, head for the ECF Library and read "The Wonderful World of Vaping". The 510 forum is also a good place to do some reading.

The e-cig itself will not hold enough juice for a day. Maybe, if you were to use a Mega Cartomizer, that'd be close. Also, the amount of juice you go though will vary depending on a lot of factors, including what nic level you use, and how you, personally, react to vaping. I ended up using 18mg juice, even though conventional wisdom indicated 12mg would be about right. Some people vape more frequently than they smoked. While there are some rules of thumb for determining what nic level you should start out with, you'll find your own level of comfort after a while.

That said, it's likely you'll go through less than 3ml a day. So you'll want to have several cartridges filled and ready to go, or be prepared to refill throughout the day. That's how I worked it, until I got a drip tip.

I've never used a portable charging case. I pretty quickly got tired of swapping batteries throughout the day, and switched to using the eGoXL batteries. 1 of those will often last me almost the entire day, and it's very handy not having to be screwing atomizers on/off of batteries every couple hours or so. Starting out with an eGo kit is a bit more money than a basic 510 kit, but near the same as a 510 kit with a PCC.

There are many good vendors. Cignot, Wordup, and e-Cig Supply are 3 I've used with great customer service.

Welcome to the forum, and enjoy vaping instead of smoking!

What mixed things did you hear? It might be nice if we can correct any misapprenhensions :)
510 is a good unit - easy to buy in the US, lots of online suppliers sell it and if you're going for a 510 unit Id go for an eGo model which has longer battery life. I get mine here Joye eGo although I dont think they sell cartomizers. Madvapes do sell them though (as cdrtrip mentioned).
As for how much juice = a pack of cigs - it varies on how much you vape. Vaping is roughly 3 times less efficient at delivering nicotine than a cigarette so you might have to vape around 3 times more to get the same amount of nic. Some people however find their need for nic is alot less than they imagined when they smoked, other find vaping so much enjoyable that they vape a lot more because its nicer, some use very low nic levels (or even none at all!) and some use high nic levels but dont vape very often.
In other words; we are all different and no one size fits all :)
If you haven't already, Id recommend you read through http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ping-illustrated-guide-e-cigs-part-1-6-a.html and http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...buying-using-electronic-cigarette-primer.html

Hi pope

I think I have tried almost every standard e-cig on the market and my favourite by far is the Janty Ego. Very long battery life means no need for a charge case, batteries charge very quickly in any USB port, or in a mains plug or car cigarette lighter with the correct adapters. Performance is reliable and vapour and flavour are excellent. Batteries come with a 510 atomiser connection (510 is most popular) and you can get adapters if you want to try other atomisers.

If you want to keep costs down just to try vaping, you could just buy one battery, one 510 atomiser (I would recommend a low resistance 510), one USB charge lead, and a small bottle of e-liquid for dripping, but bear in mind that you won't be able to vape while charging the battery unless you get the passthrough version of the Ego battery. Or if you want to totally commit to vaping buy one of the starter kits, which are usually better value.

Jusy my opinion, but the Ego mega atomisers aren't for really for new vapers and still have their issues. 510 is the safe bet.

Janty give a 3 month guarantee on their products. Vapour 4 Life are also a first class supplier.

{eGo} batteries charge very quickly in any USB port

That isn't completely true for the eGo Fast USB charger. Wish it were, but it works on some computers, and not on others. Didn't work on mine, for example.

Also, I should have mentioned that now is a good time to buy from Midwest Vapor -- sad circumstances, but they have eGo kits and a 1000mA wall-USB adapter. They normally stock 510 kits, but might be sold out already -- I didn't get any results for that link.

Also, tell us which cigarettes you're smoking.
