I'm also new to vaping and just got the Joye 510 from liquidnicotine.com . I placed my order Sunday evening and it arrived early this morning...very quick! The kit came boxed with 2 batteries, 2 atomizers, 5 cartridges (2 high, 1 med, 1 low, 1 no) and AC charger for $34.99, which is about the best deal online. I haven't really found a lot of reviews from others on this site but so far everything's been working great and I'm definitely satisfied with the product.

Hi yall! I'm about a month old vaper. I am analog free as of just a few days ago. So far... so good. My sweety has also become a vaper, or vapette? She is also off the analogs for just a few days.

We are both m401ers. She also likes her 402. We have auto and manual batts and about 10 kindsa juice.

I have lurked here since I started vaping and have learned much. I also belong to a smaller e smokers forum.

I am a long time poster at a traveling foodie site. I was once a Tex Mex chef and still do my share of cooking. Chili, soups, and stews mostly now days.

Look forward to getting to know yall better, learning, and havin some fun.
Joe

I wanted to re-create Camel Turkish Silver but got into Strawberry and Peach right away. I occasionally crave tobacco flavors but not much. I got a blu (not recommended) yesterday and loved the menthol, even though I never liked menthol cigs. It tastes mainly like mint / menthol, not mentholated tobacco :)

I've heard good things about 555 and "Kent" tobacco flavorings, but your mileage will vary depending on the vendor, and I think there's no shame in loving the fruity flavors, and there's some other bold stuff out there to satisfy the more "robust" cravings :) If you can get a good throat hit, IMHO that wipes out the need for true tobacco flavor.

I smoked the same amount, around .5-1 packs of analogs a day, and these were Turkish Silvers, which are really "ultra lights." But I found I did need to start with 18mg right away. I hope to taper down soon, but the 12mg carts I picked up were disappointing and I felt like I had to vape constantly.

I've heard explanations about the various additives (and other chemical by-products of combustion and possibly other alkaloids in the tobacco) and how they can possibly potentiate nicotine and/or cause it to be more rapidly absorbed. Possibly the act of burning it vs. vaporizing causes a more profound "rush" too. In any event, just my two cents.

I will say this: you can self-regulate very well with vaping. You just have to maintain self-control. Dripping helps me because I only do 2-3 drops at a time, and usually spread it out over 30 minutes or so.

I tried a 14mg patch for awhile because they don't recommend going any lower. After three days of it I had heart palpitations and happened to be wearing a heart monitor wristwatch, and within 2 minutes of removing it my heart rate dropped from 130 to 105 BPM.

Gums have worked for me and I love snus, but I find I never really quit nicotine...I just quit smoking, do the gum forever, or now that snus is around, do that...and never really want to stop. Then I get the urge for that sensation of smoking, and lo and behold there's an alternative that provides it...

I do look forward to dropping down to 0mg at some point (and soon will have a ton of it for mixing and controlling my nicotine consumption) but I'll probably never stay there indefinitely, for at least 10 years I'd imagine :) That's just me being realistic with myself for the first time in awhile...

Also, I suspect the carbon monoxide in smoke has a pretty significant intoxicating effect in and of itself, acting as a neurotransmitter in the brain a la nitric oxide, which may be why many people still want at least "X" analogs a day. In fact, I've read that small amounts can aid in concentration and it plays a significant role in memory function. We're all probably exposed to some amount of it all day and the brain has cleverly evolved a mechanism for using it, though too much will make your red blood cells very unhappy.

So that justified my recent relapse into smoking :) I was facing a stressful project and it did help me focus and force me to take breaks (what a silly psychological crutch that is, but so effective) during which I focused additionally on work. Sheesh. It did help temporarily, and hasn't been doing me any favors since.

I've pretty much quit every other year since I've been a smoker, and started up the next year. I think that's pretty horrible for the lungs and am really looking forward to not going through that cycle again.

We really need more manufacturing of these within the US, and it'd become rather difficult to outright ban them if additional significant profit margins and labor pools were introduced into the US economy with a proven market base. From what I've heard that "common sense" notion helped Arnie and California reject the ban, at least for now.

+1 with Little Girl. Great choice for pv and vendor! You are going to love your eGo and the ladies at Cignot. If you placed your order today, you probably won't get it early next week...good chance that you'll get it THIS Saturday! (if usps doesn't mess up). Cignot is unbelievably quick.

Welcome Time!

Got an email this morning from Cignot.com sayin that my eGo has already been shipped! :2cool:

Well the mail man came and dropped off my eGo!!! To bad my juices didn't come in at the same time(ordered from a different vendor).

I do have the prefilled carts that came with it, maybe I'll give them a shot. I have one battery on the charger right now. I took the attys and blew themout into a paper towel to get the nasty fluid stuff outta there. Anything else I should do before I give vaping a go?

Well I gave my eGo a try with the pre filled carts that came with it. I wasnt bad but I didnt get much vapor from it. Im waitin on juices to come in so I can fill some empty carts that I have. Hopefully I can get some better vapor out of it.

Anyone have any links to a carrying case for the eGo??? I would like something like a hard plastic or metal preferably. I wanna be able to shove in in my back pocket and not have to worry about breaking something when I sit down.

So my juices came in the mail today. I filled an empty cart with some dr pepper juice (my favorite soda BTW) and started vaping. First impression of the juice is good, tastes almost like the soda. It doesn't seem like Im gettin a ton od vapor tho. I've watched videos of people with the eGo and they are gettin a TON! It also seems a Lil more harsh on the throat than my analogs.

I got the manual batteries
Okay, that solves the first potential problem.
:)

Really, you should be getting more vapor from a 510 than a Blu for the most part.
I assume you are using cartridges?

Check this out and see if it helps with your vapor production...

Dry atomizers, flooded atomizers, and wicking
Basically, you want to keep your atomizer happy with plenty of juice, but not too much as to flood it.

A good sign that it's flooded is that it gets a little harder to draw on and you get little or no vapor.
Flooding it, however, won't hurt it at all, and you can just blow out the extra juice.

Letting it get too dry, on the other hand, is not good for the atomizer supposedly.
But regardless of whether it is bad for the atomizer or not, you still don't want to do it.

You can tell it is too dry when it starts to taste like crap.
A nasty sort of burnt plastic type of taste.

One reason it might get too dry is if you burn through the juice faster than it can wick up more.
That is why people experiment with different kinds of filler materials to use in their cartridges.

If you take only a drag or two every now and then, you should be fine.
But if you use these like a cigarette, the wicking process will have trouble keeping up.
There are ways to deal with this, and people have different methods that work better for them.

And of course, when the cartridge is running low on juice, it needs topping off for this reason.
