Hey guys,
I have never used an e-cig before but one of my friends got the blu recently and quit smoking analogs so I ordered one too. About an hour later I found this forum and the overwhelming amount of information has left me in need of advice.

I decided not to cancel the blu cig because I figure I can use it when I want something close to an analog to use in certain public situations and the new cartomizer they are using seems interesting.
BUT now I know that I will need something more serious if I am going to fully replace analogs with e-cigs.

I have decided to buy a Joye eGo and that is only because it is the model I hear talked about the most here, I am not really sure that it is the best for me but it is overwhelming trying to read through these forums and sort through opinions, dripping methods, cartomizers, atomizers, foam, TH? etc.

Now for the advice part:
Where is the best place to buy the eGo from? Price is most important to me but I also hate places that don't ship things within 1-2 business days. I also would like to get into DIY liquid so a place that sells that too would be optimal.

What accessories should i buy with the eGo? I see things called drip tips which I'm assuming are the best if you use DIY liquid? I see youtube videos of people refilling eGo cartomizers with a needle or the condom method but the eGo kit I'm looking at uses an atomizer with a separate cartridge and not a cartomizer, do I need to buy some separate cartomizers or something? What are the pros and cons of using a drip tip vs cartomizer dripping?

Does anyone know of a good guide or video for a beginner and DIY liquid? I'm sure I can find one myself but being a total noob I would rather use a guide that is recommended by someone who knows what they are doing.

Sorry for blasting a million questions at you guys on my very first post, thanks in advance for your answers! If you have any other advice or info that you think would be useful to me please let me know I want to know all I can about vaping and e-cigs!

check out the ECF library should be all the info you need in there

My experience with the eGo T has been the exact opposite of Rosa. My T puts out TWICE the vapor of my standard eGo (with LR atty on the standard ego.) My conclusion is that one should definitely get a T since it is vastly superior to a regular eGo. I don't even use my regular eGo any more.

My only problem with the T is that it leaks sometimes. Some other people don't have any leaking problem.

I'm sure that Rosa is having the problem he describes, so one has to conclude that the T is not consistent in performance.

By the way I use DIY juice. 100 percent PG with menthol added. 36 mg.

I have had my joye ego for about a month now, and I love it. I got it from Liberty Flights; I have tried the tank and didn't really like it, is seemed to leak. With my joye ego I have tried both cartridges w/ atomizers and the cartomizers, some of the flavors I personally think taste better with cartomizers then with the cartridges & attys.

Thank you everyone for the helpful advice, I never thought the forum would be this full of nice people =)

I think I have determined what I want for now but I want to run it by you guys real quick.

I have the blu cig on the way and I plan to use it only for the rare occasion that I go out to the bar and need to smoke something pretty normal looking. Other than that I will always be vaping near a computer or in the car (where I have a USB plug for charging things).
So, I was thinking of getting the following stuff from route66:

(1) Joye eGo passthrough battery
(1) 510 Chrome drip tip
(2) Joye 510 atomizers
and a couple bottles of Dekang e-cig liquid.

I figure that if I'm always plugged in then why do I need 2 batteries? Also I should always be free enough to drip so I figured wouldn't waste any money on cartridges and just go for 2 atomizers and a drip tip.

What do you guys think? Is my logic sound?

Ok, so I have been vaping for a little over a month now, and about a week into vaping I thought the same thing 'I'll only need one battery' <<that didn't last long, my first and only battery died during my break between classes....you can probably imagine what I was saying because unlike other people I did not keep a pack of analogs with just in case. I then knew that I would need some more batteries. It also depends on whether or not your using cartomizers or atomizers and cartridges. I have noticed that if I use a cartomizer with my ego the battery doesn't last as long (about have as long). I have 2 ego batteries and 3 kr808d-1 batteries, and I love them all. I have had some bad experiences with the passthroughs, one died about 3 days after having it & using it about 5 or 6 different times, the second one was DOA (dead on arrival), and the third one I just got about a week ago and it keeps cutting in & out when I use it. but in my opinion I would recommend getting at least 2 more batteries just to be on the safe side. Hope I was helpful & good luck. :)

DonDaBoomVapes Part 6 has been updated to include the newer models of e-cigs. I agree that it is an excellent resource for newbies. It can be found here:

Wonderful World of Vaping | Vaping Guides
Thanks, Soonerfan!

[To clarify: The WWV Version 2 in that link indeed is an updated and enhanced version of the original Fall 2009 version. Ironically, however, I never did get around to updating Part 6, although much of it is covered in new versions of the other parts ... and in other articles on our site.]

LOL My wife straightened me out

I told her I was going to try cartomizers and other stuff for the 510, she replied... “is what you have working?”... yes... “do you want a cigarette?”.... no.... “so why are you going to buy this other stuff?”.............. I don’t know.... LOL

The she said “You have spent all this time and effort figuring out all the tweaks and twists to make these things work so well, we aren’t having the problems that other have with them… what are you thinking? “………. I don’t know….

Tank is working for me... Im not going to mess with it LOL

I am glad to hear you had a good experience there but I would like to share mine. I decided to go with an ecig because others were and it sounded like a good idea. I read forums and watched videos on youtube. I liked the idea of the ego-t tank system. I could have ordered online like most do but I live an hour or so from Indy and thought I would do good there. I let him know I was new to all this thinking he would help. All I will say is that when I got home the manual did not match the items I had. I setup everything and was sooo disappointed. I thought wow this is now what I expected. I will say the attys had no markings so I was suspicious. After one battery malfunctioning on day 1 and no satisfaction from the kit at all I did more research and took a leap and got a kit from cignot.com. I am so glad I didnt give up on my first experience as this kit is what I expected. Awesome vapor and flavor. I will never go back to that shop I went to or recommend to anyone. They also have a no return policy which is not good.. imho

cre3per: if you havent made a purchase yet then let me recommend something for you. get the ego-t tank system from cignot.com. they delivered in less than 48 hours to me. I also recommend the 1000 mah batteries. total $87.00 without any juice. of course you can ask for filled tanks. if you read my later post in this thread you might understand more of my experience. good luck!

I have 3 ego-t attys and 10 tanks that I have given up on using. Those things leaked everywhere, in my mouth all over the outside of the unit, into the atty.. The stuff came from 3 different vendors, so I can't blame any particular one. Maybe I just have super bad luck, but with all the misery I suffered through with those tanks I darn near threw the whole mess out and went back to analogs. Thank God I found clearomizers to use with the ego batteries before I went that route.

I think it's pretty sound. :) I have been vaping on an eGo for a little over a month. I really dislike cartridges. The best thing I did was get a drip tip and many sampler sizes of e-juice. I have heard some people like Dekang, but haven't tried it myself. You might want more than a couple bottles. I had five different e-juices and only liked one until I ordered some sampler packs. I needed to play with the nicotine levels too for it to be satisfying. I don't think it is a bad idea to order another eGo battery either...

Someone else mentioned the Riva 510 kit on Liberty Flights what they didn't mention is that Riva is basically an eGo knock off. However, it's a really good quality knock off. A lot of people think it's better. I just ordered one of those for my sister in-law and I don't think you'll find a better deal. ECR69 will get you 20% off.

I am also vaping an eGo now and I think it's biggest plus is also one of it's biggest minuses : a wide variety of options for attys and cartos. It's a plus because there's lots of things to try to find out what's perfect for you. It's a minus because you may wind up spending a lot of money on things that you don't like.

I think I've landed on the eGo Mega atty, type B cylinder; much easier to drip with for me, huge capacity, minor issues (for me) with flooding/leaking with all VG juice (plenty of cart mods left to try tho). It lets me get on with vaping and not messing around with stuff to make it work. Tried the tank, Mega cartos, standard 510 atties/carts, XL Clearomizers and they just weren't doing it for me. Even though I've decided I don't care for cartos, I did just order some Boge LR cartos that everyone raves about.
