Hey all, decided to give this whole e-cig thing I've heard about a try. Last Monday: bought a gas station special. Last Tuesday: eVod/kanger /ego starter kit. Today: Reo mini 2.1 (the 18500 version). So yeah, I've caught the bug. I must be doing something wrong with the Reo, as the vape tastes no where near as good through it as through the starter kit. I'll keep fiddling and see what's going on. Once I have enough posts, I'll be over on the Reo section to see if I can get it working as well as I've heard it should.

Thanks for reading, and look forward to being active around here.

The Reo is unregulated so you are at the mercy of battery voltage so it's a steeper learning curve. When you get it right though, the flavour is much better than any clearo. The key is picking the right resistance atomiser for the way you like to vape. 2.2 ohms would be perfect for a fresh battery but would start to die off as the battery drops voltage, so 2 ohms would be ideal if you keep the puffs short or pulse the button on a fresh battery. A 1.8 ohm coil might be a bit difficult to start with.

What resistance atties did you get?

Aha! A little more reading, and I think Might have found the problem I was running into with the atty. I didn't blow out/clean out the primer. Now that it's been juiced, is it too late to do that? Will the taste go away? It's probably already used .5ml or so (then I switched to the cart). Any input, of course, is greatly appreciated.

Huh...just hit it for the first time today...it seems as if a nights rest did some amazing things for the carto maybe? Still might not be getting the clouds or the taste that I was from the ego/clearomizer combo, but much better. I WILL make this work dammit!!

When the device is cold it can stand a bit more power without burning, so first thing might be OK. 1.7 ohms is way low on an unregulated device. It will be running 8 watts only once the battery drops down to 3.7 volts. Try pulsing the button to avoid burning the coils. I suspect when you started this morning, as well as the atty being cold the battery was probably down on volts as well.

It's a bottom feeder, so priming is a bit redundant, but yes, press the bottle and give it a minute to soak. You can do a couple of dry puffs (without pressing the button) to draw the liquid up to the coil.

A Reo really is an advanced topic for a newcomer so you really have jumped in the deep end. Not only do you have to learn how to use a bottom feed squonk bottle, but you have to learn how use an unregulated battery to power a dripping atomiser. If you go to the higher resistance dripping atomiser you will find it a lot easier to not burn things.

After you've burnt the atomiser, it may take a while for the burnt flavour to go away, if it does.
