Hey all, been lurking here for a couple weeks reading and learning. Purchased a 510 starter kit and started using it yesterday. So far so good but an issue I have a question about. I got some 18mg and 12mg juice, it was quickly apparent that 18 was too high, and even 12 seems to be a bit high, so it looks like I need to dilute a bit. Is it as simple as say, taking a 10ml bottle of 18mg juice, and adding 10ml of either pg or vg base, and ending up with 20ml of 9mg juice? I'm not at the point where I want to DIY my juice, just lower the nic level of the stuff I bought to try and figure out what is going to work for me.
Thanks!

Since this is only your second day, and several things could be causing your reaction, you might want to keep the juice you have, and consider just buying some lower nic juice to try. You might find after a few more days of vaping that the 12mg and 18mg you have isn't that bad. If you dilute the nic level of the juice you have ,as Rosa pointed out, you will also be diluting the flavor at the same time, and flavorless juice is not very satisfying.

So the DIY juice saves money. Are the downsides worth the savings?

Doing DIY is like learning to cook. You'll make some mistakes, maybe even have to throw some out in the beginning, but you'll get the hang of it and THEN it'll save you tons (tons!) of money. Like dining at home vs. eating out.

Just start out slow by making a juice with one flavor and go from there.

A really cheap solution is to go to WalMart, get the Humco VG for <$4, buy a dram of Lorann flavoring at the pharmacy and mix those together. Then alternate between the nic juice and that until you get lower nic juices.

It's not full-on DIY, but it does in a pinch. Just be sure to stick with flavorings that are safe. Grrr, I really need to get the link for the DIY spreadsheet, it has the relative safety of commercially available flavorings.
